As I slept, I had some crazy dreams, like unicorns riding pizza, and elephants ballroom dancing. But when it was time, I knew. I felt it in my heart. She was asleep.
"Please," I prayed as the elephants danced on. "Let me see Terra."
And of course, as if by magic, I did. I saw Terra. In my dream, she was sitting on a bench by a fountain, closing her eyes and leaning back. She was wearing a patterned blue-pink crop top and jeans. She had a small viola in her hair.
"Terra!" I called. "Terra!"
She opened her eyes, then frowned. "Jon?"
"It's me, Terra!"
"No," Terra laughed, kinda sad. "This is a dream."
"It is," I said. "But I'm real."
Terra's eyebrows raised. "The dream-communicating we used to do-"
"Yeah."
"I..."
"Tell me where you are."
"But what if... what if it's a dream?"
"So what if it's a dream? You have nothing to lose!"
"I don't know where I am, Jon... but there are three other girls with me: Elizabeth, her name used to be Dina, Charlotte, was Nikki, and Amy, was Becky. Do a search on missing people with those names. And the man keeping us is Chris. But I don't think that's his real name. He has dark brown hair and eyes, and he's really tall, and lean, muscular too. He has a birthmark in the shape of a star over his eyebrow. Can't miss it."
"I'm going to find you, Terra, okay?" I whispered, stepping towards her, my voice choked.
She stared at me. "I believe you."
"I love you, Terra. And Daniel loves you too."
Terra blinked away her tears. "I love you. And tell Daniel I love him and I miss him so much. And Jax."
"Okay," I sniffed. That's when everything started getting fuzzy.
"No!" Terra cried. "We're waking up!"
I reached towards her and hugged her before I couldn't see her, and my eyes flew open.
