Mike's POV

So we were strolling along the downtown of Halifax when a small girl walked past us. She looked about 7. The thing was, she didn't seem to have any parents.

She must have sensed us staring at her because she back-tracked about 10 feet to talk to us. "what are you guys looking at?" she asked. She had blonde hair done in a ponytail on the top of her head. It looked like it hadn't been brushed in weeks. She had a back pack filled to the brim. "that back pack looks a little heavy." Billie said with a smile and he bent down to her height to take it. "will you be my friend?" she asked Billie. He smiled. "okay sweetie." he said. I bent down to her height too. "do you have a name, little girl?" I questioned. She put her hands on her hips and said: "I Kate!" I couldn't help but chuckle. She was adorable! "that's a pretty name." Tré joined. He sat down in his ass. "so Katie, have any-" Kate frowned. "I Kate!" she spat. I sighed. "okay, Kate. Have any parents?" I asked. She nodded. "uh-huh." she mumbled. "Would you like some food?" Billie asked. She again nodded.

We went back to the arena we were playing in two days and into our bus. We gave her a Cheese String, some gold fish and a pudding cup.

"can we keep it?!" Tré whined, bouncing up and down. Billie face palmed. "hell no! She has parents! She probably just got lost. We'll take her to the fuzz and they'll deal with it!" Billie whispered so Kate didn't hear. Little did he know, she was standing right next to him, munching on fishy crackers. "I like secrets too!" she screeched with a wide smile. "Kate, how old are you?" I asked, trying to sound nice. She held up 6 fingers. "six and a half!" she screamed. I ruffled her hair and smiled. "you're getting up there aren't you!" I joked. She hugged me. "damn straight pops!" she squeaked. I took a double take. Did a sweet little girl just say damn straight?! Tré went and high-fived her. "yeah high five shortie!" he said. She smacked his hand. Just then, she caught sight of my bass. "a katar!" she screamed while running and picking it up. She was adorable! Pronouncing 'guitar' must have been hard for her due to all her missing teeth.

"hey, bring it over squirt, I'll show you some stuff." I said. She handed me the bass and looked at me with inspired eyes. "you're good! You're like Tanner!" she squealed. My heart melted. "heyyy! Tanner wrote that!!" she said while I played Longview. I looked at her confused. "no, I wrote that!" I argued. She sat down in front of me. "but Tanner always plays it!" she mumbled. I stopped playing. "how old is Tanner?" I asked. She started messing with the tuning pegs. I carefully took her hand off them. "he's three-teen, he's my book buddy! Madame said I'm a good example on him!" she exclaimed. It looked to me like he was her role-model. "aww, that's cool!" she sat down next to me and held my hand. "I have a katar too! It's just like yours only older and it red and black." she stated. I squeezed her hand. "that's cool." I said. My heart was melting from her adorableness.

"I bet you want to be a drummer, don't ya!?" Tré asked. Like always, he was trying to be in the spot light. She cringed. "nuh-uh." she grunted as she picked up another bass. Tré's smile dimmed. "what! You don't wanna be a drummer!?" he screamed while pretending to be upset. Kate started crying. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you mad, honest!" she pleaded and hugged Tré.

Tré's POV

She was adorable! She only went up to my knee and she was missing her two front teeth. Although, I never knew I would make her cry. "I was only pretending Kate." I explained when she hugged me. Billie stared at me. "she doesn't understand! She's only 6!" he scolded. Kate turned to Billie still crying "and a half!" she corrected. I squealed and started hugging her really tight. "Dawww! We can't forget that now can we?! Ya little munchkin!" I squeaked. She stopped crying and grinned at me. "you're silly!" she stated with a giggle. I took pride in my silly-ness. "Dawww!! You're just adorable! You're so adorable, you must be a unicorn!" I shouted. She grimaced. "no my little pony is for babies! I'm a ninja turtle! Like Mikey and Donnie!" she screeched. I knew she was a tomboy just by looking at her. That made it official! "alright, you're like a pizza-eating ninja turtle!" I said. Mike and Billie looked at me weird. They were just jealous that Kate wasn't talking to them!

"Kate, did you run away from your mommy and daddy?" Billie asked, interrupting our Ninja Turtles conversation. She started to cry again. I frowned at Billie. He had just made my little Ninja Turtle cry!

Billie's POV

Tré gave me a dirty look for making Kate cry. Mike pulled her into a hug. "aww, sweet heart! It's okay, I'm here" he comforted. "I don't wanna go back!" Kate screeched. I face-palmed. Getting her back home was going to be a pain it the ass, but none of us were cold enough to leave her on the streets. It was getting darker out. "shhh, we aren't gonna do that." Mike whispered. It was odd. Mike was completely different around little kids. Usually he was always the badass. Now he was the comforter. Kate calmed down. "why don't you tell us why you don't want to go back to mommy and daddy?" I asked. She sniffed. "because JJ hurts me and-and m-m-mama and papa yell a lot and JJ says mean things and he s-said that Grampy died! Grampy didn't die, I-I'm sure he'll come back" she sputtered. No wonder she ran away. She didn't understand what was going on her life. Shit happened to her real young. She rammed her face back into Mike's chest and kept sobbing. I looked at the time. It was 8:30. "I think it's time for little girls to be getting to bed." Mike said. I nodded. "aww, but why?" Tré whined like a kid. He was making life difficult. "can we watch a movie? Please Billie? Pleaseeeee?" he kept whining. "Tré, go back to your bus and watch a movie, but Mike and I need to get Kate sorted." I explained. Tré hung his head and went out of Mike's bus.
