*flashback to Ancient Egypt*

I woke up early this morning as it was supposed to be the first day of the new harvest cycle. The Nile flooded a few months back and created a lot of new, fertile soil. So in the following months, I kept a watchful eye on my crops and today was the day when harvests would be the most bountiful

I was in my fields by daybreak and by midday, I was on my way home with my crops, ready to head to the market tomorrow. When I arrived home, my wife Hinari was making lunch with help from my 7 year old daughter, Narami.

"Daddy!" Narami exclaims as she runs over and hugs my legs tightly

"Hi Nara!" I smile as I pick her up and hold her in my arms

"Welcome home" Hinari says as she walks over to me

I give her a quick kiss before pulling her into a hug too

"Hello my love" i smile, "What smells so good"

"I'm making some geese thighs with garlic and onions, as well as some bread and cheese" she explains

I'd made enough selling crops over the years that I had enough to buy a cow so I could use it for milk and cheese. The geese could be caught near the river. Everything was cooking over the fireplace and smelled very fragrant and delicious

"I helped mommy cut the vegetables!" Narami exclaims

"Aren't you a big girl" I smile

I set her down and help her with the rest of the cooking before we all sit around our table and eat. The rest of the day consisted of me preparing my crops for the market tomorrow. Cutting off excess leaves and shrubs, throwing out the rotten or partially eaten, etc

By nightfall, all the work was done and I had time to relax with my family. By this time, Narami had been put to bed with Hinari and I not too far behind

"The market should be quite profitable tomorrow. We have a lot to sell and it's all very ripe" i say, "Ra has been gracious to us in our time of need"

"Maybe we could drink some of the beer we've brewed" Hinari suggests, "It is cause for celebration"

"It's a bit late for that" i say

She ran her hands down my arms before intertwining our fingers.

"Your hands are so rough, and coarse" she says as she lays her head on my shoulder, "You work too hard."

"Ironically, I was planning on going fishing in the morning and selling whatever I caught" I say, "The flooded Nile will make for plenty of catches"

"After the market, take some days off" Hinari says,  "Please"

I look towards her and notice that she had her hand resting in her stomach

"Are you..." I start

She gives me a loving smile before nodding

"Maybe I should take a couple days off" i say, "Cant have you doing too much"

"Good" she says

I leap off the couch, pulling Hinari with me, before spinning her around. When we stopped and I held her close to me, I gazed into her eyes

"I will love you until the end of my days, my Hinari" I smile as I caress her cheek

"You should consider yourself lucky" she chuckles

I pull her into a deep kiss

We called it a night shortly after that
