Scarlett’s POV
“Ok Devon you be good for your Auntie Lizzie.” I tell him. “I will.” He smiles. “Do you think you could take care of Gizmo for me while Mommy and I are on our trip?” Louri asks. “Yeah he’s fun to play with, he really likes to chase the laser.” He says happily. “Ok little Marine we will be going now, love you.” Louri says before going say goodbye to the girls and I do the same. “So are you going to tell me where we are going? All I know is it is something that has to do with the wilderness.” I say. “Ok so remember when you wanted to go camping on the Sierra Nevada mountain range?” She asks and a giant smile appears on my face that explains all the equipment in the bed of her truck. “No way.” I smile. “We are going to a cabin by one of the trails so we can go hiking if you want.”  She says. “I mentioned wanting to camp in the Sierra Nevada mountain range when I was still with Ryan and you remembered.” I say. “Of course I also wrote down a note.” She chuckles. “Why would you write a note about it in 2011?” I ask. “Well I never thought we would be doing this for our honeymoon but I thought we were going to do it as friends but I like doing it as a married couple much more.” She smiles pulling into the driveway of the cabin and it looks familiar. “Have we been here  before?” I  ask.  “I have you recognize it from the picture in the office, don't you?” She says. “That’s where I’ve seen it. It’s from that retreat your unit did a year before we got together. I remember when you told me about it.” I say “But do you remember who I told you the cabin belonged to?” She asks and my heart sinks. It was Thomas Herderson’s. “Tom.” I say, trying not to cry. I wasn't as close to him as Louri was but he was there when Devon was born and he brought her back to me. “It was but now it’s ours.” She says handing me an envelope. “What’s this?” I ask. “The other thing Mary had for us. When Tom you know. He left it to Mary with the instructions to give it to us when we had our wedding.” She says a little teary eyed. “He always knew I’d get around to giving you the wedding you deserve.” She chuckles. “Well let’s head in.” I say. “Let’s go.” She says and I go to pick up my bag but instead I get picked up. “Come on, I've got to carry you over the threshold.” She says walking to the door and when we walk in it’s all decorated with congratulations and just married banners. “This is what Ma, Melanie, Mildred, and Mary were up to.” She says, setting me down. “My turn.” I say swiftly picking her up and walking outside and then back in. “You are strong.” She says. “I’m the Black Widow Babe.” I say. “Speaking of you being the Black Widow. There is a gym in the basement with a boxing ring in it. Will you do the thing to me?” She asks. “What thing?” I ask. “You know the crotch grab flip thing.” She says “With clothes or else we won’t be able to do it because I’d have you screaming my name before we got to the ring.” She smirks and she’s not wrong. “Ok but we need our bags first and I’m kinda scared of what Liz and Bri packed in that surprise bag.” I say. “Most likely sex toys that we probably already have.” She says. “Yeah you need to stop buying more sex toys, your tongue is perfect.” I say and immediately go red. “Good to know Baby.” She husks in my ear and goes and gets our bags Iexplore the cabin as she gets the bags. I don't know why she packed so much for a week. “Why did you pack so much for one week?” I ask and she looks confused. “Baby we are staying here until we have to go back for the pereire it was  Devon’s idea.” She says and my jaw drops. “He said that since you hated having to be away from me for months at a time you would like to have a month just us.” She smiles. “For a five year old he is very thoughtful.” I smile. “He gets  it from his Mommy.” Louri says. “I think he gets it from you.” I say. “How about this he gets it from both of us.” She compromises. “Ok that works.” I say wrapping my arms around her neck. “Oh I forgot.” She says pulling out her phone. “What?” I ask. “I promised Devon we’d call him after I told you about his idea.” She says. “Yes I’d like to thank my Angel.” I say as she calls the tablet Sherman got him and we sit on the nice leather couch. “Hi Mama. Did you tell Mommy?” He asks and I lean my head on Louri’s shoulder. “She did. Thank you so much Angel but remember if you need us we will come to you.” I say. “Mama said the same thing. I have the best moms.” He smiles and my smile grows. “And we have the best Devon.” I say. “That is true, I am the best.” He says with a smile. “Hey little dude who are you talking to?” We hear Robbie ask. “Mama and Mommy. Do you want to say hi?” Devon answers. “Sure.” He says and then sits on the couch next to Devon. “So I just was told by Liz that we get to keep this little dude and the girls for a month. Is that true?” He asks and now I’m worried he won’t like that. I mean knowing Robbie he’d do it but I don’t want to bother him. “Yes that is true.” Louri says “Yes! Oh we are going to have a whole month of fun and Uncle and Auntie time. And more time for me to teach you the guitar.” He smiles brightly. “I can even get you your very own guitar to practice on. Lets go to the music store right now you can bring Mommy and Mama with us. I’ll tell your Auntie where we are going. Come on little dude this is going to be the  best month of my life. I mean your life. Oh who am I kidding I’m probably more excited than my little dude.” Robbie says before getting up and we hear the sliding back doors open. “Hey Lizziebear Devon and I are going to the music store to get him his first guitar.” He calls to her. “Just one for him, Robbie.” Liz says. “Ok I might get something for me too.” He says. “Robbie this month is about spoiling the kids, not us.” She says a little sternly. “Ok no need for the head tilt. But just in case, will you call William and tell him to only let out stuff or Devon because you know me I can’t be trusted in that shop.” He chuckles. “Baby who do you think I just texted?” Liz laughs. “You Know me so well.” He says. “HEY WE ARE STILL HERE!!” I call out. “AGH MY ZUCCHINI!!” Liz yells as something hits the ground. “You made me drop my zucchini!” Liz calls out. “Sorry where are the girls?” I ask. “Oh they wanted to help Auntie Liz in her garden Mommy.” Devon says. “I’m going to go now. I am getting a guitar. I’ll call you before bed. Bye.” He says hanging up before we can even say bye. “Robbie is a giant child.” Louri laughs. “Yeah so is my wife.” I chuckle and she just nods.
