Hudson Celeste POV

I hate this, I hate everything about this.

The woman I am about to marry and the man I will be soon calling "father in-law" are walking down the aisle together. Not even the veil that's covering her face right now is helping.

Not in my 27 years of living did I ever think I was going to marry this nobody.

This must be a punishment from God. Is this what I get for drinking and sleeping around? Cause if it is then I will stop it all and become a Priest...okay maybe not exactly a priest-

"We may begin the wedding!" the priest says to everyone. They all sit down in their seats, whispering to one another. You don't need a genius to figure out why they are whispering about. I mean look at us, we aren't a good match at all.

My father told me I have to marry this woman just because Sir Nolan is a marquess which means he is a member of the royal nobility. Many don't know about this but my father somehow did and had to play Cupid just so he could get into the royal palace.

I look over at Mary, who seems a bit down.

Part of me feels bad for this girl. I'm going to crush that innocent heart of hers till she realizes what living hell she's putting me through.

I could be drinking with my buddies right now at the local bar and having a grand old time with the waiter Jane Backer but, of course I get marrie-

"Hudson? Boy do you hear me?" The priest asks me.

I quickly looked at him, "I apologize, what did you say?"

"I said, " Do you take this woman to be your wife, to live together in (holy) matrimony, to love her, to honor her, to comfort her, and to keep her in sickness and in health, forsaking all others, for as long as you both shall live?" He looks back at me and I feel the whole church does the same.

There was a bit of silence before I could answer but I forced the words out, "I do"

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!" The priest announced.

I slowly lift up her veil, revealing her face. mhm it's not that bad without the glasses, but definitely not the face I wanna see everyday.

leaning in closer to her and finally touching her lips with mine, people were immediately cheering in the background. She removes her lips from mine but I pull her in closer so I could kiss her again. If I'm gonna put on a show then I might as-well make it a good one.
