Today the Construction Site team was working at a warehouse.

"Good morning everyone" announced Bozer.
"Good morning" answered the rest of the team.

"Today, we're going to be building a new storage building for this warehouse" said Bozer. "Maxine, you'll be mixing concrete for the foundations"
"One batch of concrete coming up" said Maxine. Starting her mixer.

"Carl, you'll be lifting the supports into place" said Bozer.
"I'm raising my hooky now" said Carl.

"Lug, you'll be delivering the supports to Carl" said Bozer.
"Shock absorbers to automatic" said Lug, setting off.

"Carrie, I need you to shift a load of pallets in the supply area," said Bozer. "Once Diggs has finished digging out the foundations he'll come over to help"

"I'm on it Bozer" said Carrie hurrying off to the supply area.
When she arrived she picked up a pallet with some cement bags and set off for Maxine.

When Carrie came back she found Diggs putting a roll of wire mesh into Scooch.
"Hi Carrie" said Diggs backing up.
To Carrie's surprise Diggs' front bucket had been replaced with two forklift forks like her own.
"Diggs" said Carrie "What's that?"
"This is my new forklift attachment" said Diggs proudly. "Bozer ordered it so I could help with shifting all these pallets"

"But, but, but I'm the one who does all the pallet lifting" said Carrie.
"Not any more" said Diggs. "A lot of other backhoes have forklift attachments, and they make it look so easy"
"Diggs, forklifting isn't as easy as it looks" said Carrie.
"Oh how hard can it be?" Said Diggs. "You just slot the forks in and lift, come on this job isn't going to finish itself"
Carrie sighed. She picked up a pallet with some bricks and headed to the site.
By the time she had got there Diggs was already there.
"Look Carrie, I delivered two oil drums at once" boasted Diggs. "Forklifting's easy, I don't know what you were so worried about"
With that Diggs raced back to the supply area.
"Well" said Carrie crossly. "If Diggs is doing all the pallet lifting then I suppose there's a role that needs filling"

Later Carrie found an old front loader bucket, attached it to a pallet and brought it to the supply area.
There she found Scooch by a pile of sand.
"Carrie, what's that?" Asked Scooch.
"This is my new Scoop attachment" said Carrie. "Well, if Diggs is doing all the pallet lifting then I suppose its only fair that I do all the digging"
"Well, I do need to get all this sand to the site" said Scooch.
"Allow me to help you with that" said Carrie.
"Are you sure?" Asked Scooch.
"Of course, how hard can it be?" Said Carrie. "You just push the bucket in and lift"

Carrie tried to push the bucket into the sand.
It took a bit of effort but she managed it. She didn't scoop up much though.
"Now I just need to tip it out" she said.
Carrie tried to tip the sand into Scooch but her forks wouldn't tip far enough. She tried to shake to bucket but the pallet slipped off her forks.
"Ouch" said Scooch as it landed on top of him.
"Sorry Scooch, this is harder then it looks" said Carrie.

Back at the supply area
"Now," said Diggs, looking at several stacks of pallets "I've got to shift all these pallets, shouldn't be too difficult"
As Diggs approached one of the stacks he tried to pick up the top one, unfortunately he hadn't lowered his forks enough causing him to push it off.
"Whoops" said Diggs. "Maybe if I"
He tried to grab a lower one, this time he managed to get his forks in but he hadn't got the angle right causing him to catch the one below, when he began to reverse the pallet that was caught caused the stack to collapse.
Diggs tried to reassemble the pile but ended up knocking over the stack next to it.
"Oh, Carrie was right, this is harder then it looks," he sighed."She would know how to lift these properly"

So Diggs went to them.
When he arrived he found Carrie trying to get the bucket off of Scooch.
"Er, what's going on?" He asked.
Carrie sighed.
"I was jealous that you could do my job so I tried to do yours but I ended up making a mess" said Carrie.
"I've made a mess as well," said Diggs. "Turns out pallet lifting is a little bit more difficult then it looks"
"So's digging" added Carrie.

There was a pause

"Carrie, could you show me how to properly lift a pallet?" asked Diggs.
"Of course" said Carrie. "Only if you show me how to dig that is"
So it was settled, Carrie showed Diggs how to properly lift a pallet. Then they tied the bucket to Carrie's forks and Diggs showed her how to dig.
By the end of the day all the materials had been shifted and the new storage building had been finished.

Later Bozer came to see them "Well you two" he said, "you've done an excellent job"
"Thank you Bozer" they both said.
"I couldn't have done all that forklifting without Carrie" said Diggs.
"And I couldn't have done all that digging without Diggs" said Carrie.
"You've been doing the digging, Carrie?" Said Bozer.
Diggs and Carrie told Bozer what had happened.
"Well, I'm glad you've learned from this" he said.
"We sure have" said Diggs "But I think I prefer being a digger"
"And I prefer being a Forklift" said Carrie.

"And I prefer being a dumper" said Scooch. "Though I do wish I had an attachment"
"Maybe one day Scooch," said Bozer. "Maybe one day".
