A/n POV :

The soon to be queen or you can say princess Y/n sat in her library reading a book elegantly. She seemed to be engrossed in it but hearing her name being called out she was back to reality.

"Your highness." a young female who seemed to be in her twenties called out.

"Yes Mary?" Princess Y/n asked softly shifting her attention from the book.

"His highness is calling for you." Mary informed.

"Why would father be calling me?" The princess asked maintaning her calm tone.

"I'm afraid I have no clue as well." Mary said bowing in apology.

"You don't have to be so formal, we're friends." Princess Y/n said with a bright smile.

"Let's just go to his highness, we can't get him angry hmm?" Mary changed the topic and Y/n nodded.

Both the ladies walked in the massive hall towards the bedroom of the king. The castle being huge, it took a while to reach the room.

"You can leave now, thanks Mary." Princess Y/n said giving her a goodbye vow respectfully.

"It's my honour your highness." Mary said returning the bow and walked away.

"Father, may I enter the room?" Princess Y/n asked after knocking twice on the huge mahogany door leading to the king's bedroom.

"Yes you may." An old dominant voice spoke from the inside.

Princess Y/n opened the door and stood infront her father, giving him a bow. The king smiled and pointed at the vacant seat. The princess sat gracefully, putting on a small smile.

"So my daughter, I have been pondering that you're going to be the new queen," The king began speaking.

Princess Y/n softly nodded paying proper attention to each and every word of her father.

"I decided that I should get you some lessons of archery, horse riding and sword wielding for your safety." He continued with concern scattered all over his face.

"I respect your decision father and I'll follow it, I have no objections." The princess said tranquilly.

"I'm proud of you my daughter." The king said flashing a small prideful smile.

"I'm blessed to be born as your daughter." Princess Y/n said with a smile.

"You may leave now." The king demanded and princess Y/n immediately complied.

She walked downstairs heading towards the backyard which was occupied in flowers which the princess herself had planted.

The princess had been fond of nature ever since she could walk. The king didn't quite like this fact but had to accept since she was his only heir.

After A While

"Dear princess." Mary called out from a far, panting.

"What is it Mary?" The princess replied, walking towards her.

"Your schedule has arrived, have a look. His highness's order." she said showing her the papers.

"Let's discuss it near the lake." The princess said turning in that direction.

Mary nodded and followed the shining figure of the princess.
"You know Mary, I've come to realise one thing." The princess spoke out of the blue, startling Mary a little.

"What is it dear princess?" Mary asked pacifically, wanting to hear out her thoughts.

"My father is not as good as he seems. I've been observing." The princess said with a dismissive tone.

"Why do you say that your highness?" Mary asked desiring more specific details.

"The citizens of our kingdom, they always complain about my father being harsh on them. Imposing extra taxes and a little cruel. But they call me really kind names even if I haven't done anything for them." Princess Y/n let out her thoughts and the expression on her face relaxed a bit.

"My dear princess, all I can do is be a listener for you. And I'm afraid what you have been hearing from the citizens is true." Mary shared her piece of mind like a bombshell for the latter.

"No further discussions on this. You had that schedule right? Read it out quickly." Princess Y/n ordered humbly in attempts of diverting the topic she started.

"Your wake up time will be 7 am, then getting ready and breakfast. An hour assigned for reading books." Mary began telling the princess her schedule.

"Then you have horse-riding session for an hour. Two hours for your sword wielding session. After that comes a short beauty nap for an hour. You'll have lunch after that and right after that comes your two hour archery session." Mary kept on dictating while the princess was lost in her own world.

"You can leave now Mary." The princess instructed, not interested in any further conversations.

Mary complied to Y/n's demand and left. Y/n sat on the porch near the lake, staring at the sun setting. Her gaze shifted towards the lake which reflected the sun making the view breathtaking.

She gazed at the view for a while, slowly capturing the view in her mind. She stood up from the porch and slightly dipped her feet in the warm lake water. A smile curved up on her face when the water came in contact with her feet.
