Christmas

Jewel's POV

It's finally Christmas time and all my pups are together again. Jax won his wrestling match with Jack. But tied in his race with Jett. Now he is cuddle up by the fire with Jenna. As the humans eat lunch. Jett, Jack and Jenna's owners left for lunch with their respective families. Giving Charlie and I chance to catch up with my puppies.

Jenna is the best in her class as scent training. Her owners brushes her everyday and gives her a bath every six weeks. Apparently, her own has kids who love playing fetch with her on her days off. And she's allowed to sleep on the bed at her new home.

Jack isn't progressing as quickly as Jett in police dog training. But is excelling at dance training with his owner. Thanks to his love for food. I'm surprised he had managed to stay so lean. But it's clear he trusts and has a strong bond with his owner.

Jett is the top of his class in agility and restraining criminals. He is the fastest in his class. But he needs to learn to use his head more and not rush into situations. He needs to listen to and trust his owner/handler. But I know he will go far, he just needs to mature a little.

Jax listens to Charlie really well and is on track to graduate next month from training. Though he to needs to mature a little. But he knows when to be serious, unlike Jett. He doesn't have as strong a bond with Charlie as I do yet. But that comes with time.

"Jewel, pups!" Charlie calls and we all raise our heads. To see him holding a bag and a familiar scent fill our noses. We yip and race over to him. Jack and Jax trying to take the bag from his hand. "Hey, sit" he tells us firmly and we all do so.

He hands us a bone each. One at a time. Jenna goes to hide under the table with her's. Jack goes to the kitchen. Jett lays on the bottom stair with his. Jax and I go to our beds with ours. As Edward, Bella, Renesmee, Jacob, Seth, Leah, Sue and Charlie all take seats around the living room. Renesmee, Bella and Jacob sitting on the floor by the fire.

"All right! Present time! Let's go! Seth, Leah, stop eating. Jake, you start. Get it going" Charlie says. Jacob hands a present to Renesmee and she opens it. I tune them out as I enjoy my bone. Until Bella hands Charlie a piece of folded paper.

"Well, Dad, we didn't have time to wrap yours, but here it is" she tells him. "It's a 5-day fishing trip to Fraser River. It's for you and Sue" she states. "Jax and Jewel will go also" she adds.

"You leave tomorrow" Edward adds.

"Wow, that's really nice. Thank you. Tomorrow? I can't leave tomorrow" Charlie tells them.

"I made arrangements for you at work" Sue tells him.

"Sneaky. And extravagant" he states.

"And non-refundable, I'm afraid" Edward tells him.

"You two trying to get rid of me?" Charlie asks them. They remain silent. "Because it's working! Fraser River. That means we'll be chasing Cutthroat" he states. A fishing trip sounds like fun and maybe Sue will make some fish fry.

"We might even hook a Rainbow or some Bulls" Sue tells him.

"The woman knows her trout" Charlie says proudly. The rest of the day went well. My pups and I got gifts also. New toys, a new bed, Jax got a life vest for the fishing trip. Jack got a fancy collar for his first performance, Jett got a travel harness and Jenna got a new brush.

But like all good things, it eventually had to come to an end. My pups owners came and took them home. Jenna's owner had to carry her as she was fast asleep. Jax is sleeping by the fire. While I saw our human guests off. Before we join Jax in the living room. Where Sue is tidying up. "I can do that Sue" Charlie tells her.

"I don't mind" she assures him. "Besides you should go pack for our fishing trip" she tells him. He nods and goes upstairs. I lay beside Jax and yawn. "Sleep girl, you've had a long day" she tells me. I nod and lay my head on Jax's back. Letting sleep take me.
