Shame was quite the funny thing.

[Y/n] wouldn't know since he's never had to learn it, ignored the slightest inkling of it even. He gives in to impulses and urges that lead him to what he thinks is the correct course of action. So of course, he's quite confused as to why the dark-haired man in front of him, is looking at him with such a face.

"It's a shame to already have suffered brain damage for someone so young," Muzan sardonically said.

"I'm pretty sure I'm older than you, Muzan. Also, it's a brilliant plan."

He sighed and ignored what the [h/c] haired male said, "They must have already checked your room when you were out. You're supposed to be taken care of and you suddenly want to pray a few days straight with no one opening the doors? They'd be suspicious."

[Y/n] rolled his eyes in return, "Yeah, yeah. You're just too paranoid about it. Trust me, it'll be alright." Muzan cocked an eyebrow before he sipped tea from his cup. Wisps of steam still rise from the brew, clearly too hot for the human tongue. A pair of [e/c] eyes fixated on the subtle movement of Muzan's throat as he swallowed the hot liquid.

"Since you're oh so smart, Muzan. I'll leave the spider lily research to you first, I'll catch up after I'm done with finishing things up with my family matters."

"Oh, I will. Don't take too long though," he smiled with the delicate teacup in his hands. [Y/n] arched an eyebrow in question. "I've been thinking of visiting the capital."

"You want me to come with you?"

The capital wasn't too far, it would take a whole day to travel by foot from Muzan's mansion. With their newfound strength and speed, one night should be enough to safely visit the capital. Is that where the physician comes from? [Y/n] pondered.

"How kind of you to offer. It's where you were stationed before, yes? I haven't been there since I was but a child." [Y/n] glanced back to Muzan's eyes, full of mirth and vexation. He nodded to confirm Muzan's question, "It's been a while for me too. I'll accompany you then."

The gentle aroma of the tea infused the air, carrying a sense of calm and tranquility that enveloped the two men together. Unwavering red eyes peered at the [h/c] haired male who had closed his eyes in front of him. Perhaps enjoying the brief respite from the challenges of the night.

"Stay safe, [Y/n]."

Five days had passed since Lord [Y/n] had requested everyone to not approach nor step inside of his room. Several had called out to him from outside, albeit quietly, but no sound had come out after waiting for so long. The head attendant felt the sweat trickling down his forehead, mirroring the anxiety that churned within him.

What if he's not inside?

Is our Lord alright?

Is he safe?

Lord Hidesato is gonna kill me.

He paced back and forth, his mind a whirlwind of worries and self-doubt. Lord Hidesato would have his head if anything happened to his baby brother he so adored. Yet, he also didn't want to anger Lord [Y/n] by breaching into the room.

As scary as Lord Hidesato can be, his brother is known more for his brutish nature and lust for blood on the battlefield. It was clear who was scarier to the attendants in the estate!

In the midst of his turmoil, the sun had risen out of its slumber, coloring the skies with hues of orange and yellow. He slowly walked to Lord [Y/n]'s room, his sweaty palms holding bound pieces of paper as he announced himself, "My Lord, five days have finally passed. Please excuse me, but I'm coming in."
