Chapter 32 : Awake

"I'm dropping out" I said as I closed my laptop , "Jeremiah you say that every time we have any kind of exams , if you're gonna say it, mean it" Konane replied, "oh I mean it this time!" I glanced at my watch and saw  that it was 3 AM , the girls had left around 9 last night and Konane and I hadn't slept since , instead we sat in the darkness at our desks studying with an unhealthy amount of caffeine in our bodies. Like the mentally ruined university students we are .

"You think Nate is feeling better?" I asked , "I dunno , try checking up on him" Konane answered , his eyes not leaving his laptop even for a second.
I stood up and stretched , making my way out if the room .

I knocked on Nate's door before I opened it and as expected, he was at his desk studying. He had his headphones in so he couldn't hear me and being the amazing friend I am , I decided to take this as an opportunity. I slowly made my way to him on the tips of my toes and as I drew closer I could feel the excitement in my body .
Just when I was about to scare the life out of him , he turned around . He was now facing me , our eyes locked. "Jeremiah, what are you doing?" He asked , I was about to answer but my eyes wondered and fell on his awfully red nose , I stiffled a laugh as he narrowed his eyes , "don't you dare" he said but I just couldn't hold it in.

I laughed and my goodness did it feel good .

Nate sighed before turning around and refocusing his attention on his studies. "If you're done laughing,I would really appreciate it if you could leave" he said, typing something on his laptop, "don't worry I'm leaving, I just came over to check how you were doing" I spoke as I walked over to his bed and sat down.

Even though it was dark , I could make out his entire room , I begun to look around and my eyes suddenly fell on the empty bed on the other side of the room. 4 Months , 2 weeks and 3 days . That's how long it's been since Liam got into a coma and now ...............he's awake.

"He's actually coming home" I said , Nate tilted his head in my direction, "do you think............while he was asleep he thought over everything he said to us?" I asked. It's something that really bothered me, as excited as I was about him waking up , I was worried he would wake up with the same mindset he held , the mindset of him looking down on people like Nate and I , "I don't know. We'll have to find out later" Nate simply replied, but I could hear the worry in his voice . He was excited to see his best friend, but you could tell he was worried on whether his best friend was excited to see him.

"Anyways.....how did it go with Yeonjun, did you talk to him?" I asked and I noticed him pause . He swiveled around again to face me and from his expression I could tell things didn't go well , "let's just say.........I'm pretty sure Yeri wants nothing to do with me right now and probably thinks I'm a liar"  , "it was that bad huh?" I inquired as he simply nodded. "Well , let's just hope she doesn't view you that way and you can finally get the girl" I said and then stood up . "You should get some rest , you can't write a test while being exhausted" I said as I left the room and the shut the door behind me.

I should take my own advice and get some rest too.

The sun soon rose and it was time to get ready for a long strenuous day of tests, I got up and noticed that Konane was still asleep, I walked over to wake him up only to be greeted by his loud groans , "leave me alone" he requested in a husky voice , "sure , if you wanna be late and miss your test , be my guest" I responded and he instantly got up , "what time is it?!" He asked before jumping out of bed and running over to his desk to check the time, "It's already Eight! I'm gonna be late!" He yelled . He rushed into the bathroom and I immediately heard the sound of the shower and sink running, "you're welcome!" I said as I laughed and walked out of the room.
