"Little Malfoy!", Bellatrix called out sweetly while knocking loudly on his wooden door. He leaned forward in his leather armchair, placing the book on the table next to him and with a flick of his hand, let the door swing open with a low creak.
"Wonderful events just took place. Our Lord shall soon arrive to greet our newest captee presented by snatchers. He wants you to tidy the salon so that the floor starts sparkling again.", the dark haired witch chants. "What extent of disarray did you leave, Bella?", Draco Malfoy asked, already walking past her. She just laughed her blood-curdling laugh, which was followed by a low hum "let's prepare the mudblood then."She knew the day would eventually come. But now, with the clarity of her action seeping through her veins, sending the blood pulsating through her brain, she felt like the world ran on half the speed. She slowly removed the barrette, letting her hair come down. She felt dizzy - her breathing pattern out of control. There was no other option. She had it all planned out and calculated, even this specific scenario. But there was a difference, going through every possible necessity back in the tent with Harry. Presenting him with the hypothetical ways to maximize Harrys chance of survival even by sacrificing her own life. She looked back at her hand, seeing the reflection of the little flame, that barely lit the room, dancing across her golden hair clip. It lay cold and heavy in her trembling hand.
The red puddles covering parts of the dark stone floor led to Dracos leather boots leaving a splashing sound with every step that he took further into the salon. He stopped feeling something for the victims this war required quite a long time ago. With some movements of his wand the blood vanished, the two corpses - of husband and wife, Draco noticed - disappeared. He even remembered to remove the foul rusty smell in the air, just the way the Dark Lord would be pleased with him. He liked to have their special captees on untarnished grounds to make sure he sees the harm inflicted which most likely led to their death after they spilled their information the Dark Lord sought. Bellatrix scream let him to stop in his doing.
Once again, in the last spark of hope, her mind races through the imaginary lines connecting events, actions and their outcome. But here wasn't anything. The only solution lay in her hand. She opened the clip and after a little bit of fumbling she held it in her palm. Small. Violet. She thought of Harry, which managed to apparate while Hermione tried to lead the Snatchers away from Harry. They were supposed to meet at the lake at dawn. She felt so sorry for leaving Harry. Forcing him to Horcrux hunt alone. She thought of Ron, not knowing where he went. Maybe he somehow would manage to get back to Harry. Maybe, maybe they would be able to succeed. But not with the information Hermione had. As she put the pill between her sobbing lips, her parents faces came to her mind. Oh, how she missed them.
Another scream and swearing led to Draco hurrying down the hallways. He heard provoked voices and came to a halt in front of the smallest dungeon. "CARROW!", Bellatrix was furious "We need her alive! Salazar do something!" Draco forced himself through the opening where Carrow partly blocked his way. And there lay Granger. He recognized her instantly. Spasming and with traces of foam around her mouth. With big steps, he crossed the distance and came to a kneel in front of the woman. He felt his heart beating and set to work.
She hadn't thought it would be that bad, dying through poisoning. Of course she had read about it. But no book can prepare you for the actual experience. There was the dizziness taking over, a burning in her stomach, sweating and the sensation of needing to vomit until her organs leave her body. Muscles tensing, body temperature rising and it felt like all hydration left her body at once. Slowly her consciousness started losing grip. She felt like falling. And she did.
Draco acciod everything he could possibly think of. But nothing seemed to show results and he started getting nervous. The crushed Bezoar hadn't worked, not even the sliced unicorn horn he forced in her mouth. He felt a tightening feeling in his abdomen, his breathing getting irregular. He feared failing her. Sweat prickled in his neck. And then it clicked. It must have been a muggle drug and of course no Bezoar in the whole wizarding world would work for that. But what would? He thought so hard to remember anything helpful, he felt his head aching. He knew, somewhere he stored a helpful memory and there it was! A book Severus had lent him. There was this one spell... contagione removere. He took her under arm, wordlessly placing a cut and chanting the spell under his breath.
