Ruby had been with the demon bull family for almost as long as she could recall. Centuries. For pretty much the whole time she had been there, there was talk of the demon bull king. Plenty from Princess Iron Fan. Ruby was her top soldier, after all. She was involved in most of her plans. But she also heard much of it from Redson, her best friend/battle partner.

They were practically joined at the hip, and always worked together. People would at first think they were siblings, based on how they acted. Even just by looking at them. Ruby and Redson both had bright red hair, although the front of Ruby's bangs were black, same skin tone, and red outfits.

And now, the day had finally come where old DBK would be coming out from under the mountain. Honestly, Ruby wasn't sure how she felt. She should be happy. All their plans would be coming to fruition. Yet, she felt sort of...empty? It didn't feel right somehow. Well, whatever. Who cared how she felt? It was a goal they were working toward, and it was being accomplished. That was a good thing.

Ruby and Redson talked before they would be heading off. "Finally! At long last, it's happening! My father shall be freed!" Redson said with glee, holding up his mechanical gauntlet. Ruby had seen him work on that for such a long time. She had helped him get the materials for it.

"Don't you be gloating yet. You'll jinx it," Ruby said, leaning against the wall of his workshop. "Well, now you're the one who's jinxing it!" Redson snapped. "Oh? Whenever I've said that before, you said that that stuff was 'bogus'. Have I just been that convincing?" She said, smirking.

"Hmph. Well, my father doesn't know you, so when he returns, I suggest you keep your ego in check," Redson grumbled. Ruby laughed. "Huh-what's so funny?!" He said indignantly. "Nothing, it's just...YOU'RE seriously telling me to keep MY ego in check?! That's hilarious, really."

"Oh, shut up, you...peasant!" Redson spat. "Can you really be calling me that anymore? I mean, I'm your top soldier, your battle partner, and live in a palace with the royal family. Can you think of something more original, please?"

"W-whatever! We are now leaving to free my father from his prison!" Redson yelled, stomping away. Ruby followed him. "And you're sure this thing you've designed will be able to lift the Monkey King's staff?" Ruby asked. "Of course I'm sure! Now, let us go!" He said, joining his mother, who was waiting. Ruby nodded at Princess Iron Fan respectfully, and they got into Redson's truck. They were followed by the army of demon bull clones.

Ruby just sighed and laid back. Redson always drove unnaturally fast, but she was used to it by now. They arrived at the underground mountain. And, on top of it: Monkey King's staff. "It feels like I've waited an eternity for this moment," Princess Iron Fan said, grinning. She turned to Redson and Ruby. "Is everything in order?" She asked. Ruby nodded. "Yes, it is, ma'am. We're just making the final adjustments." "Indeed, Mother. It will be ready," Redson added unnecessarily. He always felt the need to have the last word.

Ruby heard what sounded like some scuffling in the background. She looked, but saw nothing. Must be some kind of critter, she thought. "Finally, after all this time, we have the means to lift Monkey King's legendary staff," Princess Iron Fan reminisced. "My love will finally be returned, once we remove the staff." Yeah, you didn't have to say it again. I think all of us here get the point, Ruby thought exasperatedly.

A demon bull clone walked up the mountain to the staff. What is he doing? Ruby wondered. Or she, or...whatever. They're robots, do they even have genders? The bull clone grabbed onto the staff and started pulling on it, or at least trying to. It strained and pulled, looking like it was attempting to lift it. But, it pulled so hard that it went flying, its arms still on the staff. It looked around, seeming dismayed. It was so ridiculous that Ruby couldn't help but laugh.
