Izuku - age 5
Third person pov:
Izuku midoriya, the son of hisashi midoriya, an underrated hero with the ability to breath fire, and inko midoriya, a grade school teacher with the ability to bring nearby objects to her.Ever since he was little he had always had a connection to ice, he always would run into the forest during the winter and skate on a frozen over lake, some of the time he was even joined by his two friends, shoka todoroki and katsumi bakugou.
The three were always close, no matter what they did they always stuck together, and with their young age it wouldn't be a surprise if they stayed extremely good friends up until they died.
currently izuku sat beside his mom in the hospital, his father being busy with hero work, and with the long tests already done all that was left was for the two to wait for the results.
"Midoriya?" A female voice broke out as a head poked out of the door the two were facing, the women then noticed the two green haired people and smiled, her purple eyes flicking between the two as she came out from behind the door.
The woman had pale skin, raven black hair tied into a ponytail that reached halfway down her back, and purple eyes that sparkled slightly from the florescent lights.
Just like the other doctors in the building, the women also wore a white lab coat, but instead of black dress pants like the other male doctors, the women wore a black pencil skirt that just barely passed her knees.
"Alright. The results are in and i have some good news... And some bad news..." The women spoke softly, unsure of how to address the news she could see on the clipboard she had laid on her lap, her nervousness was easily readable with how she spoke though.
"Could you start with the good news first?" Inko asked while internally pleading that her son would get a quirk, she doesn't teach at the school her son goes to but she does teach at a school and she knows how quirkless kids are treated, often catching a quirkless kid being bullied and even beaten up.
"Well, the good news is that your son appears to have a quirk. With the connection he has towards ice, we suspect that his quirk will be ice related." The women said as she read through the clipboard, looking over some of the results for the tests that were run.
"That's great!! W-what is the bad news then...?" Inko cheered at the fact that her son had a quirk, she couldn't bear to see her son beaten up and bullied just because he didn't have a quirk.
"Well, the bad news is that your son's quirk might not manifest until later on in his life." The women said as she showed the results to inko, inko just sat there with shock clearly written on her face.
Inko knew that her sons quirk came from one of her relatives since it wasnt related to her quirk or her husbands, but she didn't know that a quirk could manifest later in someones life, and she had a feeling that none of her relatives quirks manifested late either.
"I see you are confused so i will explain. It's a rare phenomenon but someone can be born with a quirk that manifests later in life, we commonly refer to these people as late bloomers." The women started off as she showed a paper on her clipboard with different mentions of late bloomers, all of which were placed under a "late bloomer" category.
"Your son here has signs of an ice quirk forming but unlike other kids his age, his quirk hasn't manifested, this means that his quirk can manifest anywhere from later today to when he retires from work." The women said as she showed off each person that was mentioned under the "late bloomer" category.
"Late bloomers don't have a set time on when their quirks manifest, based on our test it would seem as though his quirk will manifest soon, though this is only speculation on our part." The women finished as she laid out all the different people in the "late bloomer" category, all of which had quirks that manifested at different times, not a single one had manifested at the same time as another.
"I understand that this may be shocking to hear since this is a rare occurrence. If your son does manifest his quirk anytime soon though then don't be afraid to give me a call." The women said before writing down her number on a piece of paper and handing it to inko, inko gently took the paper and grabbed izuku's hand, holding it tightly in her own.
"Thank you, doctor." Inko said with a small smile as she gently led izuku to the car, the women waved to the two on their way out of the office, glad that she didn't have to diagnose anyone as quirkless, something the woman has done a few times during her career and didn't enjoy doing.
Once inko and izuku got home izuku went to his room to take a nap, while he slept inko sat on the couch in the living room, calling her husband to tell him the news she had received.
Inko knew hisashi would understand and wouldn't change just because his son was a late bloomer, she just hoped that he wouldn't be busy when izuku's quirk manifests, he was already too busy to be around most of izuku's life, he cant miss something as important as his own sons quirk manifesting too.
