Birds are singing outside, a sign that he should get up, but his alarm didn't go off yet. Jungkook takes his phone from the bedside table and checks the time, it's 5:30, still early but he decides to wake up anyway.
Jungkook stands from the bed and walks outside his room, he was heading to the bathroom when he heard a noise coming from the kitchen.
He's still waking up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He was surprised to see Jin in the kitchen actually cooking something, not just a basic sandwich or instant noodles. Pans were involved!
"What are you doing?" Jungkook asks.
Jin jumps and turns around looking frightened, "You scared me, next time make some noise while walking! What does it look like I'm doing? Since there're no helpers here to make me something to eat, I'm doing it myself!" Jin responds.
"Wow, I never thought I'd ever see you cooking. Did you make some for me as well?" Jungkook asks again as he tries to take a peek at what Jin is cooking, which doesn't look bad at all considering this is probably his first time cooking.
"Um, no." Jin didn't want to admit that HE DID make enough for Jungkook intentionally, that he had Jungkook in mind. "But I guess the portions are big enough for the two of us. We can eat together." Jin shrugs his shoulders like it's not a big deal.
Jungkook rolls his eyes, "Wow, what a thoughtful husband I have! Thanks anyway."
Jin begins to put everything on plates and places them carefully on the counter, "I don't want to hear anything about the food. Just eat, I'm not ready to hear your criticism first thing in the morning." Jin states, not really wanting to hear Jungkook judge his cooking skills.
"I just hope you won't poison me." Jungkook tries to joke.
"I can't promise you that." Jin responds to the joke with one eyebrow raised.
Jungkook smiles but doesn't respond, he begins eating what Jin prepared, quite amazed that nothing is burnt, everything looks presentable. He takes a piece of Gyeran Mari and his eyes widen, "Oh my god!"
Jin stops eating and looks at Jungkook, "I told you I don't want to hear it!"
"This is amazing, how did you make this?" Jungkook asks as he takes another piece.
Jin's cheeks turn pink, but he tries his best not to feel shy about the compliment, "Oh! Nana used to make it for me for breakfast, but my dad refused to let her come here. So, I tried to make it as close as possible to her version."
Jungkook's mouth is full of food as he speaks again, "Seokjin, this is very tasty! How did you manage to cook so well on the first try!"
Jin gives Jungkook a weird look, "Sure, let's say it's the first try, just don't look through the trash." Jin replies.
Jungkook laughs, "Well, you didn't give up and you managed to make it perfect!" Jungkook unintentionally praises Jin as he continues eating.
Jin's cheeks were turning pink again and he was trying not to act flustered, "Just eat your food, Jungkook." He says, trying to hide his smile.
*****"Do you have anything planned today?" Jungkook asked, trying to start a conversation since Jin hadn't said anything since they entered the car, going to the company.
"I'll probably go out with Hobi and Tae." Jin responded. "Do you have anything planned?" He decided to ask instead of cutting the conversation short.
"No. But I do have a meeting with Yugeom's company. I'll probably be late."
"Yugeom?? Your highschool bestfriend Yugeom?!" Jin asks.
"Yes, is there a problem?" Jungkook asks confused.
"I can't believe you're still talking to that asshole!" Jin says and looks away.
"He's not an asshole, plus it's more of a business relation now rather than anything else honestly." Jungkook responds.
Jin rolls his eyes, "Easy for you to say, he didn't try to humiliate YOU every second he got!"
"Seriously? He teased you a bit in high school and you're still thinking about it?"
"A bit? A BIT? Are you for fucking real!?" Jin starts to get angry.
"We're grown-ups now, you can try to act your age and move on from these little things!"
"You're so mature and perfect! It's easy for you to say, you weren't the one bullied!" Jin mocks Jungkook.
"Why are you giving me an attitude? I'm just telling you it's not good to be stuck in the past." Jungkook defends himself.
"And I'm telling you, you're defending my high school bully! I don't want to hear about him!" Jin snaps at him.
"Fine! God! I can't ever have a decent conversation with you!" And the rest of the car ride passes in silence.
