A few minutes later, Thatcher parked the car at the police station. They both got out of the car and went into the MCPD building, Thatcher walking a little slower than Taro, mumbling something about how stubborn Taro is. Taro got to the door and held it open for Thatcher. “Pffttt, ladies first.” Taro said holding back laughter at the thought of implying Thatcher was a lady. “Thank yo-, oh fuck you.” Thatcher rolled his eyes and walked through the door. Taro followed closely behind him, walking to their office. Taro picked up his phone. The screen read “99+ missed calls and new text messages from ‘Ander <3’”. “Jeez.” Taro looked at his text messages, which ranged from “I miss you” to “Are you okay please Taro answer, did you die?”. Taro sighed. It was almost time to leave. He sent Ander a message “I’m fine, I’ll be home soon.” He was dreading the walk home, after all, he was pretty tired. Taro sat down and started typing his report of what he had seen, a click clack noise from his keyboard being followed by letters appearing on the screen. He only had 5 more minutes left in his shift. “Shit.” Thatcher said after dropping the MCPD mug on the ground, it contained scalding hot coffee. Taro saw this, and went to help him clean it up. He picked up the glass. “You could get cut doing that, I’ll go get the broom. I was the one who dropped it in the first place.” Thatcher said, his voice quieter. “Nah, it’s alright, I’ve got most of it anyways.” Taro said this while getting up, glass in his now bleeding hand. He put the broken glass in a plastic bag, leaving Thatcher confused. Why didn’t Taro just throw the pieces of the mug away? Whatever. Taro is weird. Taro came back to the spill, and wiped it up. “It’s clean now.” Taro got up and looked at the time. It was time for them both to leave. “That went by… rather quickly” Thatcher said, also looking at the time. “Well, I guess i’d better get going” Taro said while signing out. “Yeah” Thatcher said while also signing out.
