Part 3
The Circus
1.The New Guy
Dr. Jason drove for hours until he reached a huge carnival tent. There he parked and my father and him went inside. Two hairy guys soon came out and carried the cage to where all the other big cats were kept. They set the cage down and left.
“New guy,” hissed a male tiger as he eyed me.
“Be nice dear. We were once new too,” the lady tiger scolded as she slapped him with her tail.
“Hello, I'm the Mighty Mike and this is my brother, the Terrible Tim,” greeted Mighty Mike, who was a grown male lion. “What do the two-legs call you?”
“James Otter,” I replied sadly.
“James Otter! What name is that?” chuckled the male tiger.
“Sensational Stripes, you need to stay quiet!” hissed the lady tiger.
“I will be quiet, if you would stop slapping me, Killing Karen!” he roared and she stared blankly at the bottom of her cage.
Mighty Mike whispered to me, “She doesn't like her name. She is so sweet and wouldn't hurt a fly.”
“Oh,” I replied silently before I curled up and fell asleep.
