Once upon a time, in a faraway town called Willowbrook, there lives a young girl named Lily. This young girl was quite imaginative, often seeing fairies and other magical creatures. Because of her tendency to believe that these magical creatures were real, the other children of the small town often avoided her.

One day, at the edge of a dark forest, a small group of boys were playing around with a ball. Lily sat by the edge of the forest, watching the children play, hoping that they would invite her to join them. But they never did.

One of the boys had accidentally kicked the little blue ball into the forest, sending it far out of sight. Turning to the Lily with a grin on his face, he told her to go and fetch the ball for the group, promising that she could join them.

With a joyful smile on her face, Lily happily ran into the forest to fetch the ball.

Sticks and dried leaves snapped and crunched under the young girls feet as she wandered through the depths of the forest. The thick canopy of foliage above provided little to no light, making it very difficult for Lily to find the ball.

Up ahead, Lily could faintly see a small lake, a bright light shining down on it almost magically. By pure coincidence, the little blue ball was floating in the middle of the lake, bobbing up and down slightly. Lily picked up her pace and ran to the small body of water, kneeling on the bank.

Lily reached out her arm in the direction of the ball, desperate to try and retrieve it. Her fingers brushed the sphere and slightly pushed it farther away from her unintentionally. Slowly getting frustrated, Lily reached out farther, her knees sinking into the muddy bank.

Unaware of the footsteps approaching behind her, Lily looked down in the lake and saw something long and shiny swim by. With pure joy on her face, the young girl thought that she had seen a mermaid but was disappointed when she saw that it was just a long fish. Reaching out for the ball one last time, Lily thought that she might actually grab it. That was until she was pushed face first into the water.

The pressure of hands on her back kept her head down in the water, freaking the girl out. She thrashed around in the lake, trying to free herself from whoever it was trying to drown her. Lily was slowly starting to grow tired from holding her breath for so long, almost ready to give up.

With one last flush of energy, Lily looked up in front of her and was face to face with the long fish from before. The sun glinted off of the many rows of sharp teeth. The fish slowly swam closer until it was inches from her face. Staring into the eyes of the large fish, Lily began to grow fearful. Within the timespan of a heartbeat, the fish lunged forwards and that was the las thing the poor girl Lily ever saw.

The boy that was holding Lily down in the water got off of the now dead girl, watching as the clouds of blood rise to the surface. The young boy poked the body with the toe of his boot and slowly nudged the deceased girl into the water, never to be seen again.
