As the hustle and bustle of the wedding reception faded away, leaving behind echoes of laughter and the soft murmur of departing guests, I found myself standing beside Kajal, enveloped in a bittersweet embrace. Her tearful farewell tugged at my heartstrings, a poignant reminder of the cherished moments we shared and the bonds that connected us.

"Don't forget me," I whispered, my voice barely audible over the din of emotions swirling around us. Kajal's grip tightened around my hand, her eyes brimming with unshed tears as she nodded in silent agreement.

"Never," she choked out, her words laden with emotion as we held onto each other, seeking solace in the familiarity of our friendship.

As the guests dispersed and the hall emptied, I retreated to the sanctuary of our shared room with Shubman. His familiar presence provided solace, a comforting reminder of the love and support that surrounded me.

Entering the room, I found Shubman engrossed in a phone call, his expression softening as he caught sight of me. A silent understanding passed between us, words unnecessary in the intimacy of our connection.

Once his call concluded, Shubman joined me, his touch gentle as he removed my jewelry. Despite the fatigue that settled in my bones, his tender ministrations offered respite, a brief reprieve from the whirlwind of emotions that threatened to overwhelm me.

With a practised ease born of familiarity, I shed the remnants of the elaborate wedding attire, exchanging them for the comfort of everyday clothing. Shubman's presence offered solace, a silent reassurance that anchored me amidst the tumult of emotions.

"Are you okay?" Shubman's voice broke through the quiet, concern etched in his features as he regarded me with unwavering support. "I am," I assured him, a faint smile gracing my lips as I mirrored his attentiveness.

"Move your hair na, I'll remove your chain, " he spoke as I did what he asked. After slowly removing the necklace I kept it back in its box along with the earrings. "You still haven't changed into your normal clothes? " I asked him as I looked through my bag for a T-shirt and pants.

"I will be. I just got a call, " he answered. "Do you mind if I borrow one of your shirts? " I asked still looking through my bag as he hummed in response.

I looked up before going over to his bag where he stood buttoning up his shirt. Finding a suitable black T-shirt I took it,  before entering the other room to change. After changing out of the lehenga, I came out throwing my hair into a messy bun.

"You look so freaking gorgeous in my clothes. I should let you borrow my whole wardrobe, " Shubman exclaimed making me smile.

"Well that's very thoughtful of you, " I smiled placing my clothes in my bag. "What are our plans for tonight?" he asked pulling me along as we lay down on the bed. "I don't know, what about Ishan?" I asked as he shrugged.

Can we just binge-watch Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham on Netflix while eating something?" I proposed, a hint of eagerness colouring my voice as I met Shubman's gaze.

His response was immediate, a smile gracing his lips as he nodded in agreement. The prospect of a cozy evening spent in each other's company offered solace, a welcome respite from the demands of the outside world.

With a shared understanding, we settled into the comfort of our routine, the familiarity of our connection weaving a sense of belonging amidst the quietude of the evening.

As Shubman pulled me into his embrace, his touch gentle yet possessive, I couldn't help but feel a surge of gratitude for the love and companionship that defined our relationship.

"I love you," I whispered, the words a testament to the depth of my affection as I nestled against him, finding solace in the warmth of his embrace.

"A few more minutes, then we can binge-watch," Shubman promised, his voice a soothing balm against the backdrop of the evening. With a shared sense of anticipation, we embraced the simple pleasures of togetherness, finding solace in the quiet intimacy of our shared space.
