"I've noticed some changes, or maybe I'm the one who's paranoid." Diana commented as she and her best friend Anna browsed through some papers in the workplace.
"What's different? at the office?" Anna inquired as she, too, was searching through files.
"Nah, some changes with Mark... he's... distant." Diana responded while looking away from the file she was reading and away into space as if there was something invincible that was interesting and only visible to her.
"I told you from the very start, I do not like that guy at all and now that you are feeling this way, maybe it's time you leave?" Diana let out a big sigh as Anna inquired.
When the 5 p.m. alarm went off, they both hurriedly packed their bags and equipment before leaving the office; it was time to go home.
"Anyways, remember the last time you asked me if there were any remote jobs that we could do to earn some cash?" Anna inquired after they had exited their corporate building.
"Yeah."
"I found one, it's pretty interesting but not really remote, though yeah it is interesting." Anna responded.
"What exactly is the job about? and what makes it fascinating?" Diana inquired as they went at the ice cream store for a chocolate chip cone each, which had been a part of their daily ritual since they were five years old.
"Well.. um, you know these apps like RentAFriend, GetPaidToChat?" Anna inquired.
"Yes..?" Diana inquired after paying for the ice cream, and they both continued their walk home.
"I discovered something comparable, except I doubt you would want to do this kind of job?" Anna answered.
"Why?" Diana asked, her brow arched up as she stared down at her friend.
"Well, for one, you are in a relationship so I thought it would be a bad idea to tell you."
"I'm still in a relationship so yes, it is still a bad idea to tell me." Diana answered.
"No, no, hear me out." Anna said before licking her ice cream. "Now that Mark is acting different, don't you think that it's high time you ditch him and get to do this before he breaks your heart?"
Diana's brow arched even high as she looked at her friend, wondering what to tell her for her absurd suggestion.
"That is still a bad idea and no, I'm not leaving Mark."
"Okay okay let's go home and forget about this stupid idea of mine." Anna said as she walked Diana home.
"Want some leftover pizza?" Diana asked as they walked in her house.
"Hell yeah, I'm too broke you know." Anna said as Diana unlocked her door to the shared apartment she lived in with her boyfriend Mark.
"Is he home?" Anna asked as she made herself comfortable on the couch.
"I don't know, as I said, he has been too distant of late, he barely says a word to me." Diana said as she stepped into the kitchen.
"Oh." Anna said as she followed her friend, "You know what Instagram love experts say when this happens?"
"I know but I don't want to think about it cause I'll be one who'll end up hurt with the millions of thoughts in my head."
"You're still hurting yourself though, you know what you are thinking o is the truth yet you're also denying it." Anna said.
Diana swung the fridge's door open to retrieve the pizza she had mentioned prior but it wasn't there where she had last placed it, she looked on the top and bottom fridge shelf to check whether she was the one who was confused and forgot where she had last placed it but it wasn't there.
