Chapter 1
Summer

"Mommy!" Eva screamed. "Where is my icecream?!" "You ate it all, honey." Eva only had one week left of summer and she wanted an ice cream sunday every single day until school started for some odd reason. Eva was very spoiled and rich but she wasn't a snob or stuck up. "Can you buy me some when you go out today, please?" Eva yelled to her mother down the hall. "Sure honey." Eva's mother, Ava, replied. "Yaaaaaay! Thank you mommy!!!" With that Eva ran outside to meet her friend Harper, who had just got there. Harper and Eva had been friends since they were two and they were now twelve. Eva only lived a block away from Harper so they would ride their bikes to each other's house all the time. It started when they were six and knew how to get there. That was also when they finally figured out how to ride a bike. "Hey!" Harper told Eva as she walked out the door. "Hey!" Eva replied. They went down to the beach which was only 5 mins away when walking. Eva rode her new scooter and Harper rode her new skateboard. When they got to the beach they looked around for awhile and saw many people there but none at the volleyball court. "Where do you think KK and Lila are at?" Harper asked Eva. "I don't know they said they would be here at 4:30 and it's 4:35 now." "Were we late?" "No, we got here two minutes early actually and they still aren't here." "That's not like Kenzie. I mean, Lila is always late but she has a reason to since her scooter broke and she has to walk now. But Kenzie? Even if she has to crawl with 80 pounds on her back she's never late!" "Ummm... correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that them over there laughing and pointing at us with...with Susie!!!" Susie was the rich, stuck-up popular, snotty, girl who always thought she was better than everyone. Kenzie, or KK, was always so sweet and friendly, nothing like Susie. Eva couldn't believe that KENZIE out of all people would hangout with someone like Susie and act so rude and mean towards her best friend since 1st grade. Lila she never knew about though. She just always wanted to have excitement in her life no matter what it would take. They had only been friends for 2 years but apparently Lila wasn't as good of a friend as Eva thought she was. When Eva finally zoned back in she heard soft crying. Harper was devastated. She had known both of them for 6 years now and couldn't believe her eyes. "They just betrayed us like that" Eva whispered, stunned. "I'm going home. I'll see you tommorow." Harper let out in a shaky whisper, fighting back tears.
