"Where is he? Come on." mumbled Sarah to herself as she looked out of the sliding doors of the daycare while fidgeting with her hands.

It was finally the end of the work day and she was tired to the bones. All she wanted was to reach home and take a hot shower. The lack of sleep and the events of that day and last night concerning David Miller had left her drained.

And now the man of the day was half an hour late to pick up his daughter.

"No sign of him?"

Sarah turned around and shook her head for Helena. "He doesn't pick up his phone either." said Sarah defeatedly. "Not him, nor his brother."

"That arrogant man." Helena grumbled while putting her coat on. "First he threw a tantrum about who takes care of his baby and how much it's important for him and now he doesn't even show up to pick her up."

"You go, Helena." smiled Sarah tiredly. "I will close up. You can't be late for your anniversary date."

"No way I leave you alone here." scoffed Helena and narrowed her eyes at Sarah playfully. "You are literally fainting from exhaustion. Thanks to heavens that I have a great man as my husband. He won't mind if I am late a bit. He is probably running around the house right now, looking like a headless chicken trying to cook the dinner he has promised while preparing a romantic table."

Sarah giggled but deep inside her heart ached. Sometimes she envied Helena and Matt's relationship. They were high school sweethearts and loved each other unconditionally. That was why their marriage was still intact after 12 years full of hard times.

Only if Brain ...

Shaking her head to get rid of the bad thoughts, she once again turned toward the doors while dialing David's number, praying that he at least answered her call.

"This is fucking unbelievable!" shouted Aiden angrily as he and David stormed out of the building where the office of one of the last lawyers they had hoped to hire was located in.

"Lower your voice, Aiden. You are attracting attention." hissed David as he rudded his forehead, trying to rid of the bad headache that had bothered him for the last five hours.

"I don't care!" Aiden threw his arms around exasperated. "This is ridiculous. How is it possible that no one takes our case? Are they this afraid of Carson Law Firm? So they also lose all of their other cases to Carsons?"

"It's not Carson I'm afraid." said David. "I think it's the mix of Carson plus the power that Shepherd has."

"They are all cowards." snarled AIden and narrowed his eyes at the building behind them. "Fucking cowards."

David sighed and walked toward the street to hail a cab, but as he took the first step his phone began to vibrate inside of his pocket.

He took it out and squinted his eyes at the unknown number displayed on his screen. "David Miller." he answered the phone.

"This is Sarah O'Conner from Sunny Daycare." came Sarah's voice from the other side of the line and David's heart sank. Quickly checking his wrist watch he cursed under his breath as he saw what time it was.

"Where are you?" asked Sarah a bit angrily. "It's six in the afternoon. You were supposed to be here half an hour ago."

"I'm sorry I forgot." replied David as Aiden grabbed his arm and pointed to a car that was pulling over in front of them, clearly an Uber.

"You what?!!" asked Sarah in disbelief.

"Look, I lost track of time. Okay?" answered David through gritted teeth as he sat inside the car. He didn't like the fact that she was thinking he had forgotten his daughter. "My last meeting took longer than I thought. It's not like I forgot about my daughter."
