A normal girl name Madilyn moved into a new town called Violl's Garden. Violl's Garden is a beautiful town with amazing people. As soon you step into the town the smell of fresh baked cookies fills into your nose. Madilyn is nervous moving into a new town since she has no friends. She loves drawing and some day she wishes to sell them. She also loves cats and has one of her own named Lucia. Lucia is a calico cat and love cuddles. Madilyn looks in the mirror brushing her silky long blonde hair while singing to New Person, Sams Old Mistakes by tame impala. She puts on her comfy clothes and jumps on her bed, staring up to the ceiling. All she could be thinking right now is Highschool. High School started in a week and she's feeling anxious. She called her best friend. "Hey girl!!" says her best friend. "Hi atlas." Atlas can sense something is wrong. "Is everything ok?" Madilyn froze "I'm just nervous for high school. I am scared to see my ex." Madeline's ex is crazy. His name is Shayne. Madeline and Shayne broke up due to Shayne being too clingy and overprotective over her. One time Shayne kept her at his house because she wanted to hang out with her own friends. "Madilyn, it's going to be ok. I don't Even think he is going to the same high school as you." After Madilyn heard those words, she felt less nervous and safer. "Thank you, Atlas," "You are welcome girlie!" Unexpectedly the call ended "What the" Madilyn's phone turned off completely. "This is so weird." Madilyn got up from her bed to check and see what's up. "Mom! Dad!" No answer. "Mom! Dad!" No answer again. "Maybe they just left." Madilyn checked the garage and her parent's cars are still there. Madilyn is getting anxious. One spot she hasn't checked was the basement. She avoids the basement of all cost. She walked towards the door and grabbed the door knobbed and slowly opened the door. "Mom? Dad?" Once again, no answer. She slowly walked down the stairs and she is getting really nervous, watching the lights flicker, stepping on the cold flooring seeing bloody footprints on the ground leading to her parents. "OH MY GOD!" Her parents were lying down on the ground, lying there dead. The smell was horrendous and flies everywhere. She panicked and screamed in horror. She called the police and she just sat there sobbing, staring at her dead parents, waiting for the police to come. Few days later after the murder of Madilyn's parents. 9:30 a.m., At the police station. Detective Alexandria is on the case. Today was when the autopsy report came in. They were both stabbed in the chest, and they were both missing their hearts. "I just don't get it. Why would someone do that?" Detective said in a concern tone. Madilyn was staying with detective Alexandria due to Madilyn not having another family members that wanted to take her in. Madilyn has been silent ever since the tragedy. Until she saw her best friend Atlas walked in the police station. Madilyn got up from her chair and ran to her. They hugged for a long time. "I'm so sorry that I wasn't here sooner" Madilyn was sobbing. "I missed you so much. I'm so glad you are here with me." Those was her first words since she got there. Detective Alexandria came up to the girls "Welcome Atlas!" Madilyn looked confused "I knew you missed atlas and I decided to fly her in. She is my cousin." Madilyn wiped her tears off and hugged detective Alexandria. "I didn't know that you two were related" Atlas smiled "she is such a cool cousin!" Detective Alexandria quickly turned her smile into a frown "Unfortunately, I have to take her in for questioning to see if we have any lead or clues to the murder of your parents" Madilyn was still shock. She keeps remembering how it felt seeing her dead parents wishing she could've done something. Madilyn is alone. "Since I'm going to be talking to Atlas how about you go for a walk. I'll give you some money to buy something" "really?" The detective nodded and Madilyn hugged her once again. She grabbed the money and walked out of the police station. It was a nice sunny day out. The grass was greener than usual, the flowers are colorful, everyone was out and about. Madilyn stumbled upon this ice cream shop and decided she wanted ice cream. Madilyn walked into the ice cream shop, feeling a knot in her stomach. The thought of socializing with someone new made her nervous. It had only been a few weeks since her parents had been murdered and she was still grieving. She wasn't sure if she was ready to interact with people again. The ice cream worker looked up from the ice cream he was scooping and saw Madilyn. He smiled and waved. "Hey there! What can I get for you?" Madilyn walked up to the counter and looked at the flavors. She couldn't focus, though. Her mind was still consumed with thoughts of her parents. She felt like she was in a fog, unable to think clearly or communicate effectively. The Ice Cream worker noticed that Madilyn seemed distant. "Is everything okay?" he asked. Madilyn sighed. "I'm sorry. I'm just having a hard time right now." The Ice Cream worker nodded. "I understand. Sometimes life can be tough. But hey, you're here now, and that's a good thing. Why don't we sit down and enjoy some ice cream together? I'm on break!" Madilyn felt a wave of relief wash over her. The ice cream worker seemed kind and understanding, and she was grateful for his company. "Okay," she said, smiling faintly. The ice cream worker led her to a table in the corner of the shop and sat down across from her. They both took a spoonful of ice cream and savored the sweetness. "So, what brings you here today?" The ice cream worker asked. Madilyn hesitated. She wasn't sure if she was ready to open up about her parents. But something about the ice cream worker presence made her feel safe. "My parents passed away recently," she said softly. The ice cream workers expression softened. "I'm so sorry to hear that. That must be really tough." Madilyn nodded, feeling a lump in her throat. "It is. I'm having trouble interacting with people. I don't want to be a burden." The ice cream worked shook his head. "You're not a burden. It's okay to take things at your own pace. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here for you." Madilyn felt a wave of gratitude wash over her. She had only just met the ice cream worker, but he seemed genuinely kind and caring. She smiled faintly. "Thank you," she said. "That means a lot to me" The ice cream worker smiled "oh by the way I never got your name" the ice cream worked lit up" My name is Owen! What is your name?" Madilyn fidgeting her fingers underneath the table. "I'm Madilyn" Owen smiled "what a pretty name!" Madilyn blushed "thank you!" Madilyn and Owen chatted for a while longer, enjoying each other's company. They talked about their favorite books, movies, and TV shows, and discovered that they had a lot in common. As they finished their ice cream, Owen suggested that they take a walk around the block. "It's a beautiful day outside," he said. "Why don't we stretch our legs and enjoy the fresh air?" Madilyn hesitated for a moment. She wasn't sure if she was ready to leave the safety of the ice cream shop. But then she remembered Owen's kind words and felt a surge of courage. "Okay," she said, smiling. They stepped outside and strolled down the street. The sun was shining, and a gentle breeze blew through their hair. Madilyn felt a sense of calm wash over her. She was grateful to be outside, surrounded by nature. As they walked, Owen pointed out different landmarks and buildings in the city. He told Madilyn about the history of the town and shared interesting facts about the people who lived there. Madilyn listened intently, fascinated by Owen's knowledge and passion. She had never met someone who was so invested in their community before. After a while, they came across a small park. Owen suggested that they take a break and sit on a nearby bench. Madilyn agreed, feeling a little tired. They sat down and watched as children played on the swings and slides. Madilyn felt a sense of nostalgia wash over her. She remembered how much she had loved playing in the park when she was a child. Owen noticed Madilyn's wistful expression. "What are you thinking about?" he asked. Madilyn smiled faintly. "I'm just remembering how much I used to love coming to the park when I was a kid. It's nice to be here again." Owen nodded. "I know what you mean. Sometimes it's good to take a break and just enjoy the simple things in life." Madilyn laughed. "Yeah, I definitely need to do more of that." They sat in silence for a few moments, enjoying the peacefulness of the park. Then Owen turned to Madilyn and said, "You know, I had a really great time with you today. I hope we can do it again sometime." Madilyn felt a surge of happiness wash over her. She had enjoyed Owen's company too. "Me too," she said, smiling. Madilyn and Owen sat on a bench in the park, laughing and chatting. They had met by chance and hit it off immediately, discovering that they had a lot in common. As the sun began to set, Madilyn checked her watch and realized that she needed to leave soon. She didn't want to go, but she knew she had to get back to the police station. "I should probably head out soon," she said, glancing up at Owen. Owen's face fell. "Oh, okay," he said. "I had a really great time though. Can I get your phone number so we can hang out again sometime?" Madilyn smiled, feeling a flutter of excitement in her chest. "Sure," she said, pulling out her phone. "Let me give you, my number." As she entered her number into Owen's phone, she felt a sense of happiness wash over her. She had made a connection with someone new, and it felt amazing. "Thanks," Owen said, grinning at her. "I'll text you later so we can figure out when to hang out again." Madilyn nodded, feeling a sense of anticipation building within her. She couldn't wait to see Owen again. Just then, her phone rang, interrupting their conversation. She glanced down at the screen and saw that it was Detective Alexandria. "I'm sorry, Owen," she said, standing up from the bench. "I have to take this call. It's important." Owen nodded, looking understanding. "No problem," he said. "We'll talk soon, okay?" Madilyn smiled, feeling grateful for the time they had spent together. "Absolutely," she said. "Thanks for everything." Before she left, Madilyn leaned in and kissed Owen on the cheek. "That's for being such a great guy," she said, smiling. Owen blushed, feeling a warmth spread through his body. "You're welcome," he said, grinning from ear to ear. As she walked away, she felt a sense of sadness wash over her. She had enjoyed Owen's company and wished they could have spent more time together. She answered the phone, knowing it was Detective Alexandria. Madilyn answered the call, feeling a sense of urgency in Detective Alexandria's voice. "Madilyn, I need you to get back to the station as soon as possible," Alexandria said. "We've had a major development in the case. "Madilyn's heart raced as she tried to process what Alexandria was telling her. "What kind of development?" she asked, feeling a sense of dread. "I can't say over the phone," Alexandria said. "Just get back to the station as soon as you can." Madilyn hung up the phone, feeling a sense of panic wash over her. She knew that something big had happened, but she had no idea what it could be. She quickly gathered her things and left the park, starting to walk towards the police station. "What's up?" Madilyn hesitated, her mind racing. How could she tell him that he was a suspect in a murder investigation? "Owen," she said, her voice trembling slightly. "The police want to talk to you about something. Can you come down to the station?" There was a long pause on the other end of the line, and Madilyn could hear Owen's breathing quicken. "What is this about?" he asked, his voice low and serious. Madilyn hesitated, not sure how much she should say. "I don't know," she said finally. "They just said they wanted to ask you a few questions." There was another long pause, and Madilyn could hear Owen's breathing slow down. "Okay," he said finally. "I'll be there in a little while." Madilyn hung up the phone, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She didn't know what was going to happen next, but at least Owen was coming in to talk to the police.
