Nathan's POV
I quickly grabbed my keys and phone as I ran out of the hotel room following Max. We quickly got into the van and made our way to the hospital.
“ What the hell happened?” I asked Max.
“ I don’t know. I got a call from Ashley crying saying Brittany got into an accident. I tried to get her to explain but she was crying and I couldn’t understand her.” He said.
“ Oh my god. Is Ashley okay and the baby?” I asked.
“ Yeah there both fine, it was just Brittany.” He said.
“ Oh my god.” I said then out I put my face in my hands as I felt some tears roll down my cheek.
“ What if it’s really bad? And she dies.” I said.
“ Oh mate she’s not going too. She’s a feisty one, she’s not going out without a fight. Just stay positive and she will be ok.” Max said trying to comfort me. We finally got to the hospital and we booked it into the waiting room area. We looked around and couldn’t find Ashley. We started to panic until we heard some say Max’s name, we both turned around.
“ Max.” Ashley said barely able to get it out.
“ Love! Oh my god are you ok?” Max asked as he gave her a hug.
“ Yeah but… oh my god. Brittany’s hurt really bad. The doctors are working on her.” She cried.
“ Oh god Ash what happened?” I said. We all sat down as Ashley explained.
“ God. We were out walking just browsing around. It was pretty busy out. We were waiting to cross the street. When it was safe to go we started walk and as we were crossing the crosswalk a car decided to run the red light and I looked over it was coming right towards me. I froze and I couldn’t move then that’s when I heard Brittany yell watch out and she pushed me out of the way. I fell to the ground and heard a crash and when I turned around… oh god.” She said but then started to cry again.
“ Ashley what happened next?” I said.
“ When I looked up all I saw was her tiny body flying through the air then she landed on the ground. I ran up to her and she was barely breathing. In a couple of minutes an ambulance was there and they took us straight to the hospital. She saved my life and the baby’s. But now she might not make it. It’s all my fault.” She said then started balling again. I wrapped my arms around her.
“ It’s not your fault. And she’s not going to die. She can’t, I won’t let her.” I said. I got up and Max took my place.
