I'm not usually one to read or watch entertainment news, but this story about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce (the QB from the Kansas City Chiefs) is too cute to ignore ...
Bella Swan, who is a world-famous singer and is touring the United States ... she's newly single and ready to mingle.
Edward Cullen is the quarterback from the Seattle Seahawks and has the biggest crush on Bella Swan and is teased relentlessly by his teammates. So much so, that he went to her concert when she was in Seattle to slip her a friendship bracelet with his number on it.
Romance and hilarity ensue ...
Is this the beginning of their Love Story?
Love Story
Chapter One
"Cullen! Stop staring at your phone!" Emmett McCarty bellowed. "God, you're worse than teenage girl waiting for a phone call from her crush." He snorted, grinning widely at his quarterback. "Oh, wait, you are."
Picking up a wadded-up pair of socks, Edward threw them at his best friend. "Shut it, you asshole." He looked at his phone longingly before putting it into his locker. It had been a couple of weeks since he'd gone to the Bella Swan concert with his little sister, using his connections to get her a 'friendship bracelet.' Only his bracelet had his name along with his cell phone number.
It had been all the rage to exchange friendship bracelets at the concerts, celebrating the different Eras of Bella's famous career. Alice, Edward's sixteen-year-old sister had an entire armful of the beaded bracelets, wearing them proudly at school.
Fuck, he was a teenaged girl.
"We have hours to watch film," Emmett said, draping his arm over Edward's shoulders. "We're going to kick the Chicago Bears' asses!"
"It won't take much," Edward grumbled, walking with his center to the large conference room where the offensive line would watch defensive film of the team they were facing in the upcoming week.
They settled next to each, and Emmett gave Edward wide grin.
"Don't start," Edward grumbled.
"Who's still in the pool?" Emmett sang, arching a brow.
"Has she texted or called?" asked Mike Newton, one of the offensive linemen.
Edward's cheeks flamed, tossing a piece of paper at Mike. "It was a long shot. I know! But, I had to try, and I refuse to ... what did you call it?"
"Slide into her DMs," Mike smirked. "Send her a dick pic."
"You're a douche," Edward snapped.
"Boys," Coach Clapp admonished. "As much as I want to hear about Cullen's nonexistent love life, I'd like to not be embarrassed and lose to the atrocious Chicago Bears."
"This is a part of the ritual," Emmett whined. "At least, since Cullen grew a set to give her a bracelet."
"I hate you all," Edward moaned, burying his head in his hands. His teammates had been razzing him since Emmett found out about Edward's plan to woo Bella Swan, using his little sister as the reason for going to the concert. He'd been all too eager to act as chaperone for Alice and her three best friends. Hell, he'd even donned sequins for the event, posing for pictures with fans.
His secret plan was not so secret anymore.
"Come on, Edward. We only tease the ones we love," Emmett said, rubbing Edward's shoulders. When Edward's head popped up, he squeezed his cheeks. "And, I love you, man. Just like you love me."
"That's debatable," Edward deadpanned.
"Did she call or text?" Emmett cajoled.
Narrowing his eyes, Edward shook his head and took out his pen with a flourish. He flipped off his friend and tried to ignore the snickering from his teammates. The lights went down and the game from the previous week flickered to life on the screen.
Three hours later, the film was over, and Coach Clapp had devised a plan for the Bears. After lunch, they'd go out, and run the new plays. By four, they were heading back into the locker room. Edward wiped his face, tired and sore from his workout. He sat down heavily in front of his locker, rooting through his bag for his change of clothes for after he showered. His phone beeped from the top portion of his locker. Reaching up, he opened up his phone.
He had one new text from an unfamiliar number.
Hello, Edward Cullen ... I have to say, this is a first. A bracelet as a form of communication? Call me intrigued and call me back. ~ BS
A/N: I'm not a football aficionado. I'm a casual watcher, though I can't watch my home team, the aforementioned atrocious Chicago Bears. This story about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce has got my writing mojo back into high gear.
So, up next, we'll hear from Bella.
Leave me some!
