"I do not see why I cannot do such a thing." Anna stated, hands on her hips as she faced off against Demetri and Carlisle. "It is not I who the Kings are so utterly fascinated by."
They had only just reached the castle itself and almost instantly after stepping out of the carriage, Anna felt something pulling her into the annals of an ancient looking building which se quickly realised was an art gallery. However, after suggesting the idea of her simply taking a stroll through the building, Demetri seemed incredibly against it.
"Yes but you have both been called for an audience." Demetri repeated again for what felt like the millionth time. "It will seem treasonous to reject said audience."
"Trust me I know treason very well. They can have their doctor and I will have my art. I will see you later Carlisle." Anna said, her tone one of finality as she turned away, muttering under her breath as she walked away. "Les hommes peuvent être si irritants." ( men can be so utterly irritating )
Demetri went to follow her but was stopped quickly when Carlisle laid a hand on his shoulder.
"Let her, trust me you shall do little to stop Anna when she is that defiant." He said, a knowing look on his face. "She is not overly fond of castles any longer. Give her a minute."
"What happened?" Demetri said with a sigh, running a hand through his hair. "To make her like this."
"Trauma is the word for it." Carlisle said, a sad smile on his lips. "I can not tell you much more than that, Demetri. Now, show me to your Kings won't you? The reason for this argument."

He could smell her on him.
They all could. Caius knew it.
As Aro vamped on and on about the hospitality they could provide this incredibly talented doctor, Caius was distracted by the heady scent of rose and sandalwood which although strong, they knew did not belong to the doctor.
Caius caught Marcus' eye and knew he could also smell the heavenly scent that bound the brother's together. He had had enough of Aro's endless chatter. He wanted his mate.
"Doctor Cullen, where is this companion of yours we have heard so very much about?" Caius ground out, his teeth clenched as he interrupted their conversation. Usually at such an interruption, Aro wouldn't have stopped and yet he himself had been wondering that very same thing.
"Yes." Aro said with a tight lipped smile. "We so looked forward to meeting her."
"Anna took interest in the art gallery beside your castle." Carlisle explained with a soft smile, completely unaware of how impatient the Kings had grown. "I believe she is still there as of right now, she may still be there for the next few weeks. Anna adores such things."
Caius found he did not wholly detest the way his undead heart jumped at that.
"And you allowed that, Demetri?" Aro asked, as he turned to the Volturi guard on Carlisle's left but before the tracker could say anything, Carlisle jumped in.
"Anna is not someone who cares particularly if she is 'allowed' to do anything in particular." The Doctor said fondly. "She is still Queen in her own mind."
"Queen?" Marcus asked and the guard looked somewhat taken aback. It had been a very long time since Marcus had expressed any interest in... anything.
Carlisle also looked somewhat taken aback.
