"Good Sun God above! Acho, could you be any more useless to us? Why can't you be more like your brother? Useless as he is, at least he can hold a sword right and defend himself!" Hudson yelled at his youngest son, slapping his face, "The only thing going for you is at least you aren't a gay boy like him. I'll marry you off if you aren't careful since producing a son is the only thing you seem to be good for!"

Acho's face stung, star had to fight back the tears he wanted to shed, he knew he'd be hit more and harder if he cried or showed signs of weakness, "I apologise Sir for my failure," star repeated the same line he'd said their whole life, from the moment star could speak.

'Sorry' had been star's first word after all.

Again, Acho was hit by star's father, "Get out of my sight. You are a pathetic excuse for a Heron. Go!' Hudson screamed.

Acho rushed away, running to Scott with tears in star's eyes, "Scott!" He sobbed, throwing themself into his brother with a pained cry.

"Acho, I told you to let me train with him today, I saw how angry he was, I would have taken it for you. My sweet brother, I know we talked about this last night but it's not too late, I will smuggle you away tonight and take you to Will, he'll take you and you'll be safe," Scott held his brother tight, playing with star's hair.

"And leave you here with him, Scott are you insane? Our plan was to both run, what do you mean Will will take me? What happened to both of us together forever?" Acho knew he had to get out or they'd be in danger but he wasn't leaving star's brother behind.

"I'll follow one day, if it's safe, but this is your last chance. If you run now, you'll be gone within the hour, but remember our deal? If we are ever separated on this journey, we will meet back in town one year from today. What do you say, moon?" Scott could see his father pacing the Heron Base, he knew he had to get star out now.

"I'll hold you to that, sun," Acho pulled back and grabbed star's backpack from the floor and their moon pendant before star disappeared into the setting sun.

One year, he'd be back in one year even if it killed him because a moon did not break its promise to its sun.
