Vera was a mess. She might as well go to the dance - but she had no dress. She could make one in time for tomorrow, obviously, but she wanted to get back to her book.

Weaving her way between shelves upon shelves of books, she quickly found her way to the little cranny in which her reading material was nestled: The Timeline of Crimes and Atrocities of Jezebel Ruby. She opened it up to the first page.

Magick, as you all know, is a piece of - let's say hypothetical twine, wrapping around your heartstrings and allowing Magick-users to do extraordinary things. But someone wanted to ruin that.

Jezebel Ruby, DeathWitch extraordinaire and the most infamous witch in Magickal history. But what people don't know is that before her - yes, before her - Death Magick was not something to be feared, no! It was something to be revered, not reviled! Death is as natural as the Westward winds, and the same goes with other Magicks.

Jezebel's first exploits, however, made sure that her magic was seen differently. She began to round up anyone she felt threatened by - Magick-users who were not witches or warlocks. Gorgons, Invents, Inventors, etc - she made sure that no one could threaten her newfound abilities. Her prowess as a DeathWitch grew, and, even still, she was afraid of Death, in his great black shawl, his scythe ready to cut down lives, his bone-white skull face leering like ivory. No one could scare her like Death did. After all - he took her mother when Jezebel herself was only nine.

As she grew up, the young Jezeb accomplished many great achievements. She studied extremely hard and was the top of her class. One of the subjects Jezebel was particularly interested in was Dark Magick. In 1639, Jezebel Ruby graduated from Millennium Academy with a new goal. To obliterate Death himsf. She wondered quite a bit about why people die. Why does the Grim Reaper get to choose? Can't she stay alive forever?

Her peers and former teachers caught on, however, and found her in the act- a battle with Death, at an old graveyard, which, unbeknownst to them, lay on top of an old catacomb.

Unable to commence a recess or end in the fight, the Magickals created a rift in which to seal 20-year-old Jezebel, and has never been opened since. But even as they created the powerful spl, the Magickals began to lose their magic, each one of them. The Inventress, the Warlock, the Ghost, the Phoenix, the Werewolf and the Vampire. In order to reopen the rift, ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- However, you would likey not want to use this spell, as it could likely kill you. It would also free Jezebel Ruby and what other dangers lay in that pocket dimension.

The chapter ended there. Vera stared in disgust. How dare this book censor important information! How dare it remind her of the danger Razz was in!

Truthfully, Vera wasn't thinking about herself, as she was an Inventress, one of the entities needed to be sacrificed for the spell, but to be honest, she was more worried about Razz. Hence, my earlier comment about Vera's slightly nonexistent selfishness.

She tucked the book back into its nook to read later. She needed a dress for the dance. She wasn't doing anything else after all- and it would take her mind off of Emila and Razz.

Vera criticized her wardrobe. "Too flashy. Too diva. Too ughhh." She muttered, throwing everything aside. She found a sleeveless sunset ombré dress which trailed out at the hem like fire. Ideas sparked in her mind like the fire of the fabrics.

She took it to her desk and immediately got to work sewing in cogs and gears along the waistline, creating a copper belt trailing down one side of the dress. Out of the leftover nuts, bolds and cogs she made her mask, a copper bird's beak and iron headpiece with Philippine eagle feathers falling softly down her scalp from the top like its forebears' mighty crest.
