Woohoo! This is my first fanfic in a potential series based on Injustice! I hope you guys enjoy this first chapter and feel free to write any constructive criticism! Everyone will be very OOC and there is going to be a bit of romance but I'd like to focus on the plot. I really hope y'all enjoy. Also, there will be profanity so if you don't like that, don't read this❤️
6 AM - HALL OF JUSTICE
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Titans and the Justice League have recently done a merge of sorts. We'll still be the Titans but we'll be equals to the league now. Equals. That's refreshing. Most of us were sidekicks of sorts. Wally was Barry's sidekick, Donna was Diana's. When you thought of sidekicks, you'd think of Robin. Batman and Robin. The boy wonder. I've since grown out of that mantle, passed to Jason, Tim, Steph and now, Damian. Equals. Finally. I'm out of the shadows, leaping into the light. It's like a much needed breath of fresh air.
Being Robin was a great learning experience, without a doubt, but I remember hating being in Bruce's shadow all the time. It was always Batman or Batman and Robin, never just Robin. That's why I left to form the Teen Titans, my very own version of the Justice League. Just as I was looking for members, I remember a young Kori who had freshly escaped the Citadel. I didn't know that the tiny alien girl would soon mean everything to me, that she would become the heart and soul and snappy mouth of the team. She was as sweet as sugar. She's changed. We've all changed. Even Diana, even Hal and Bruce and Barry and even Damian. All of us have been stripped of peace and tranquillity and shoved into the depths of a crisis. An infinite, never ending, shitty, hellish crisis. We've lost too many, we're the last.
Something about this feels familiar in a sense. Too familiar. Dodgy, almost. Probably me being a bit delusional. Besides, I'm probably just over reacting. Deja Vu is an Olivia Rodrigo song and nothing else. I look outside. Central City has become the new base of this said alliance. The world is ending and there's only a handful of heroes left.Being a vigilante isn't particularly the best, all that the media sees is the glamorous interviews and the strength. They don't see the inner battle and the mental war we must fight with ourselves just to keep going. For everyone. For the people we are sacrificing our sanity and chances of leading a normal life. It breaks my heart to hear little kids say that they want to be superheroes for a world of superheroes is a world of injustice and instability...
