The simple introduction sings mockingly

I focus hard, bringing out the melody

I can get this right, or at least so I pray

But this fleeting song will not stay

The chords all simmer deep,

The pedals shake beneath my feet,

Yet my left hand just stops and begins to shiver

My right hand follows as it starts to quiver

The tune will not finish,

The notes start to diminish,

The tarantella weaves a gentle lie:

You can do it if you TRY.

But I've memorized it so many times

It just won't be filled with perfect chimes

And so I raise my hands yet again

And so another cycle now begins.
