"Respect is earned, not given"
Right. You're right. You might scoff and tell me that this is bs and laugh your ass off. You might say that we should still respect others even our enemies in the name of God—but in this world, it isn't possible. How would you react when someone disrespects you? Most advices people tell me is that I should disrespect them back. It's just simple really, the way you treat people is the way you want to be treated. This world is different from the heavens. I might be talking nonsense but it catches some kind of point. It doesn't matter who you are or what your rank is. Disrespect me and I'll do and give the same taste to you.
