ElysiumLiving here.
You may have noticed by the title but, if you haven't, this story is a rewrite of the story by the same title.
Now, you may be thinking: Why rewrite The One Who Was Forgotten when you're already on the second book?
One simple reason: I've grown. Both as a writer, and a student.
I was beginning High School at 14 when I first wrote the introduction for this story back in 2017. Due to unforeseen circumstances with family and school, I left it for three and a half years. After COVID hit in 2020, I had to devote everything to school so I could graduate as online learning took over. Then my grandmother passed suddenly in February of 2021 of a stroke, which sent me spiraling in and out of depression for the better half of a year.
Ironically, that's what helped me finish the story.
You may have noticed that I have other, unfinished, stories on my profile.
Those will get done.
Someday...
Anyway, as I was saying. I was 14 when I first wrote the introduction to the original story.
I'm now 20 and in college.
You may notice that I will keep some (read: most) parts of the story, but I will be adding/removing parts as well.
For the most part, the story will remain the same. As I had said before, I left it for years before coming back to it. In that time, the plot that I had in mind changed. Drastically.
I had originally planned to have the MC stumble upon Artemis much like Sipriotes. Situations and problems would arise, and Artemis would then be forced to reveal that she had had a son with a king. Aphrodite would be jumping with glee, and Zeus would demand the child be killed. Ultimately, it would have culminated into Artemis killing her own child in order to save the world.
Yeah. No.
For those of you who have read the older version of this, congrats. You may know half of the plot already.
For those who are reading this story for the first time: don't fret. You won't miss anything important.
Although, I will say this: be prepared for an insane amount of trauma and discovery culminated in a twisting of the Greek Mythology tales that we know and love.
The first chapter will be up on Friday. For updating, I will try for every Friday. However, as many may know, a writer's muse is like a terrified puppy. Therefore, if updates don't end up being once a week, then look forward to once a month.
Please do not hound me for updates, as that just gives me less motivation to write.
Happy reading and May The Gods be With You,
ElysiumLiving
