"You know I really feel like this is my lucky day" Hailey flashed me a smug smile as she brandished her knives at me like a kid flashing her new toy, the silver hilt swirled with gold specks which made it shine in the sun.
"And you say that right before you're about to lose" I flashed a smirk switching my knife between hands.
"We'll see" she shrugged before charging at me. Faster than I thought she could move, she swung her fist at me and I felt my face snap to the right. She did have one mean right hook after all. Touching the side of my face, I hissed out at the metal taste I felt on my tongue.
"You little-"I sneered out but she remained unphased by the murderous look on my face,
"Oh sorry did I get little miss Ava angry?" she smirked her silver eyes shining under the gaze of the sun.
"Just you wait till I wipe that smirk of your face" I frowned getting into a stance. Her face went dead serious after that as we circled each other like vultures circled their preys in the desert. "I've never seen that stance before" she frowned deeper, her forehead creasing into a line like they usually do when she was thinking.
"Well, you're about to learn it just not the way you think" I shrugged pausing for a second before kicking her knee which made her buckle and fall to the ground with a grunt. She gave me a glare only making my smirk get wider. She stood back up this time not wasting a second before she threw another right hook, I dodged it and gave one of my own to her left side and a grunt was released. She straightened turning slightly on her feet but I'd already seen her next move in the way she turned and glided on her feet.
She swung her knife at me not giving me time to react before swinging the other one but her stance was weak only making her left side open so I took my opening and gave her a knee jab, doubling it up with my elbow to her side and another to her face. Before she had time to get over being winded, i took her arm twirling it whilst shifting the weight on my foot and slammed her straight into the training mat with a grunt.
"Owwwww!" Hailey gave a loud groan as she twisted on the mat. I let out a loud laugh trying to catch my breath. How the hell does she weigh that much? "We were meant to spar not go all kung-fu on me" she sneered up at me her lips forming into a grim line.
"Says the idiot who decided it would be nice giving me a nice bruise and yet another knife cut on my wrist" I grinned pulling her up while she rolled her eyes."I like my cuts they look nice on you." she shrugged with a smug smile.
"Doesn't mean you should keep giving them to me though" I gave her a small glare before tilting head slightly at her with a huge smug grin on my face , "besides I do remember you losing today again."A groan resounded against the walls of the dim training room. Hailey pinched her nose muttering profanities at the gold encased ceiling before looking at me with a glare. "I know that look" she hissed at me. "What look?" I shrugged tying my hair into a bun as I feigned ignorance.
"You little shit don't you freaking say it?"
"Say what? Ohhhh I know" I feigned realization,"that you still move like a freaking sloth!" I smirked in satisfaction at the beet root color her face immediately turned to, "oops sorry! But the truth is inevitable anyways"
"Bitch" she immediately shoved into the mat and sat on top of me. On instinct and because Hailey is impulsive like that, I removed my knife from my sheath holding it up on her neck.
"Awww. Love you too!" I gave a sadistic smile which made her only shove me harder. Bad idea as I only pressed my blade harder into her skin, just the write amount of pressure to draw blood if she made any sudden move.
