The sound of steps ascending a staircase echoed through the empty corridor. The dry interior had a hand run across them, a hand with tanned skin. Before switching sides to the next flight, revealing the man before them. He was a decent height for a fifteen year old who stood at a respectable five ten. He had hazel eyes which glimmered in the poor lighting of the stairwell. He had black hair which reached the bottom of his shoulder blades, but the left side of his head had dyed white hair carefully braided and tucked over his ear which bore two wired earphones. He hummer carelessly with a hop to his step, walking past a painted '13' on the wall.
This man was Kaito Afonso, a half Brazilian half Japanese man who had a talent he didn't have a strong understanding of. What was this talent? Well, to keep the fun, he soon reached the peak of the building.
He carefully closed the rusted door behind him which shut with a audible thud. He wiped his hand on his blue school vest, beginning to walk towards the ledge and jumping on whilst carefully balancing. He takes a deep inhale of the stale air, and takes in the view of this abandon section of the land just North of Kyoto, which was about a 45 minute drive. He would take in the sounds of nature overtaking the hospital he stood upon, but the song 'Eleanor Rigby' overlapped it and deafened out any other audio coming from his surrounding.
"Man," Kaito finally sighed, talking to himself as he exclaims the ground carefully. "I can't believe i'm actually going into High School, what a pain. But, this is my favourite stress release."
Finally, his eyes landed on a small figure slowly approaching the abandoned hospital, along the cracked street and near the rotting buildings which surrounded this old complex.
"Is that it? Well..." Kaito' words dragged, lifting his hands up in front of him. "If it is a ghost, there's only one way to find out."
Clap!
...
Silence befell him, and the figure in the distance didn't move any faster than before. He pouted as he pulled one of the earbuds out and letting it hang. A sighed left his mouth as orbs of blue sparked around his eyes, outline of black flowing the unstable state of it.
"That's pretty lame." He said to himself again, before ducting around an arm rocketing past! "I guessed wrong!"
Suddenly, he jumped to the right and fixed his posture to see who was before him. It was a furry beast with four legs and arms like needles, quite literally, with fingers as sharp as one. He had a surgical mask covering its mouth and an hair cap. A grin of malice grew over Kaito's face.
"What? Are you a monster of surgery? That's cheap!" Kaito rushed forward as 'Eleanor Rigby' had ended, his unattached earbud flapping aimlessly while 'She Looks So Perfect' began.
A punch was thrown at this 'Monster', but with a surprisingly quick reaction speed moved behind Kaito. His head snapped, and within his eyes saw what he needed. Three marks, one red triangle on the side of its abdomen, a red square at the base of its ankle, and a green rectangle on its chin.
The surgical curse began to throw an attack with its fingers straight and began to pierce the teen. But suddenly, WABAM! A left elbow to the side of its abdomen landed, before Kaito dropped to his hands and spun clockwise. A right kick landed on its ankle joint, before using his arm strength to launch himself up and slam his knee against its chin. All attacks successfully landed, but yet none seemed to have dealt damage. It was more like a 'good job' tap than a successful attack.
Using his momentum he flew back. He once again landed on the edge of the roof before launching himself forward in a forty-five degree angle. The cursed fist slammed into the ledge and destroyed it, allow rubble to be sent rocketing to the floor.
