HOMECOMING

AS THE FIRST rays of sunlight filtered into the room, Henrique found himself abruptly awakened by the persistent prodding of Kai. He groaned and pulled a pillow over his head, trying to drown out the annoyance.

"Henrique, wake up!" Kai's voice was far too cheerful for this ungodly hour, making the little Parker mumble something unintelligible from beneath the pillow.

Kai didn't relent. He tugged the pillow away from Henrique's face, letting the morning light stream in. "Come on, little brother. Rise and shine!"

Henrique squinted up at his older brother with a scowl. "Kai, do you have any idea what time it is?"

Kai grinned, seemingly unfazed by Henrique's irritation. "It's time to get moving, loser. We've got a lot of work to do. Besides, seven in the morning is not that early."

Henrique groaned again, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He was not a morning person, and Kai's enthusiasm for the early hours was nothing short of infuriating. "Can't it wait, like, another five hours?"

Kai chuckled and pulled the covers off Henrique. "Nope. Time's ticking, and we can't afford to waste any."

Reluctantly, Henrique dragged himself out of bed, still in his — Stefan's — pajamas, and followed Kai downstairs. He couldn't help but wonder what his brother had in store for them this early in the day, and whether it was worth sacrificing his precious sleep for it.

"I'm so bloody exhausted, Kai," Henrique yawned as he groggily walked over to the kitchen to pour himself a cup of coffee which surprised him. The coffee maker had brewed the coffee. For the first time since they have been stuck there. Did Kai do this?

Kai let out a soft groan before throwing his head back. "If you wanna get out of here today, then we should be quick. The solar eclipse is going to happen in like a few hours. Can you be a dear and stop complaining. Wake your boyfriend up too, will ya?"

Taking a sip of the much-needed coffee, Henrique rolled his eyes at his older brother's early morning grouchiness. He set down the cup and exited the kitchen, heading back upstairs to Damon's room.

He knocked on Damon's door, hearing a soft groan from the inside which in turn made him turn the door knob and push the door open. He saw Damon, with his eyes shut, and Henrique could not help but stare at the beautiful man as the sun kissed his masculine face. He was so gorgeous even in his sleep, Henrique thought to himself as he walked over to Damon.

"Damon, wake up," Henrique gently shook the vampire.

The vampire fluttered his eyes open, letting out a soft moan, before he yawned slightly. "Hey, yeah. What time is it?"

"Seven in the morning."

"Are you serious?" Damon shut his eyes again.

"I am. You have to wake up. Today's the day," Henrique uttered almost in hush tones.

"Yeah, okay. I'm getting up now."

Henrique leaned in, placing a kiss on Damon's cheek before leaving the room to go to Stefan's. As he stepped into the room, he could not help but notice that his clothes from the day they were trapped in the Prison World were laid out neatly on the bed. They were clean, without a trace of the bloodstains from Kai's stab, and they even smelled fresh, like a field of daisies. It was a stark contrast to the grimy, blood-soaked state they had been in before. Henrique could not help but wonder who had taken the time to clean and restore them to their original condition. He brushed away the thought and decided to step into the common bathroom to shower, taking a towel from Stefan's drawers.
