BALLAD OF A LITTLE WITCH

THE TRIO STOOD there, fazed by the sudden appearance of Joshua Parker. Once a leader of the Gemini Coven and the parent of the Parkers — the father to all of Henrique's and Kai's siblings, including the two of them. He was also the man who appeared in Henrique's dreams for countless sleepless nights, haunting and taunting him.

The weight of Joshua's presence was palpable, and his gaze seemed to cut through their defenses, exposing vulnerabilities and secrets they would rather keep hidden. For Kai, the man represented a past he had tried desperately to escape, a past filled with cruelty and manipulation.

Henrique, on the other hand, couldn't help but feel a mixture of anger, fear, and a strange longing. It was a complex web of emotions, driven by years of absence and neglect.

As the seconds ticked by in tense silence, the reunion with their father raised more questions than answers, leaving them to grapple with the uncertainty of his intentions and the shadows of their shared past.

Kai broke the silence as he glared at his father. "What are you doing here? There's nothing for you here."

Joshua exuded a soft chuckle. "That's where you're wrong, son. I have all of my children here."

Henrique stepped forward, his eyes glistened with rage. "Your children? So, you do remember that you have children. You do realise that you have implicated our lives? You abandoned all of us. You left me. You sent Kai away just because you didn't want him to take over the coven and because he was different than any of your other children. He turned out the way he did because of you!" He exclaimed. "You know, we all thought you were dead after all these years."

Joshua's expression remained unnervingly calm as he listened to Henrique's outpouring of anger and hurt. "I didn't come here to discuss the past, my boy. I came because something has been unleashed, something powerful and dangerous. The coven is in danger."

Kai scoffed, the bitterness in his voice palpable. "And why should we care? You made it clear that we were never wanted, that we were nothing but a burden. Remember when you made it clear by pushing me away even before I "unreasonably" murdered half of my siblings?"

"You're a liar and an unfaithful man. You made me live a life that was full of lies and deception. You did all this to me. I had to find out that I was a child of infidelity from Kai. My God, can you even believe that?" Henrique snapped at his father, earning a dumbfounded look from the man as he realised that the little witch knew about his illicit affair.

Joshua's gaze switched between Henrique and Kai, his eyes carrying a hint of regret. "I know I've made mistakes. I can't change the past, but I can try to make amends now. There's a danger. The danger that approaches isn't selective; it threatens all witches, including our family. Please."

"A danger? That's what you came for? Our help?" Henrique's anger began to give way to a begrudging curiosity as he still stood still, frowning.

Joshua hesitated, his usually composed demeanor faltering for a moment. "A being, a dark force, has escaped from a prison world, and it's hunting for powerful witches like us. It wants to absorb our magic, and it won't stop until it consumes everything in its path."
