As Annabelle laid on her bed that night, she couldn't help but think of the events that happened that day. Her mind trailed to what she had done. She had agreed to be Nicholas's woman. The thought made her growl.

She was trying to run away from her mom who wanted to introduce her to yet another man who could end up being a "good suitor". She immediately ran to Ben's place to avoid meeting the man. She didn't even know his name.

She was just tired of her mom trying to be a matchmaker. She decided that that was the main reason she agreed to Nicholas's proposal and not for her selfish needs. Now that she thought about it, her reasons sounded lame to her. She almost regrets her decision, except for the fact that she actually didn't.

The jet black hair he groomed so carefully had a rippling quality, it was obvious that he ran his hand through his hair often. His face was indeed a sight to behold. His piercing blue eyes were beyond entrancing. His roman nose complemented his well defined cheekbones. He had the body of a greek god which spoke volumes of strength. He possessed a latent, leonine power and always walked with purpose and authority. His presence was intimidating and authoritative.

The baritone in his voice was sexy. It gave her the chills whenever he spoke. She wondered how she was going to go through with this. For one, he was annoying and authoritative. He hardly said more than three words to her in the past and today, when he finally decided to talk to her, he chose a very touchy topic.

With a deep breathe, she decided to forget about the events of the day and just go to bed. Tomorrow she'd have to face the consequences of her decisions.

She grumpily woke up to the sound of her alarm beeping. She turned off the alarm and lazily made her way to the bathroom. Thirty minutes later she made her way to her dressing table. Taking her time to dry her hair, she decided to let it down. She applied her eyeliner and favorite baby pink gloss. There was no need for her to apply a lot of makeup. Her skin was clear and she didn't fancy the idea of always wearing makeup. Although she did wear makeup but only on very special occasions and it'd still be at the minimal level.

She decided to wear a straight black off shoulders dress that hugged her perfectly slim hourglass figure. She wore her black luobouton pumps. Satisfied with her reflection in the mirror, she picked her black MK bag and left for work.

She worked as a therapist. She'd usually be very busy whenever she had a patient to deal with. Some were difficult to deal with and others were easy going. But all the same she loved her job. It had always been her dream to be a therapist and own her own counselling company.

After packing her Mercedes, she made her way to the entrance of her work place. Once she got to her office, she felt her phone buzz. She picked it out of her bag and checked to see who it was. To her surprise, it was Nicholas. She didn't remember giving him her number. Of cause, Ben gave it to him. Ben had also given her Nick's number few months ago.

'We need to talk. See you at 12 noon. Be ready.' The message read.

She couldn't help but shake her head. What an arrogant man. Why wasn't she surprised that the message was brief and precise? Not even a greeting or a please. She took a deep breath to muster all the patience she could gather to deal with this man.

'Good morning to you too Nicholas. I work you know.' She replied.

'See you at 4pm then. No excuses. I'd pick you up. And call me Nick' - Nick.

'I can drive myself thank you. Just tell me where to meet you. Besides you don't know where I work.' - Anna.
