Things weren’t looking well for them. He knew he would have to strengthen them, make them train until they were sore and numb.

“Edmund.”

“Yes, brother?”

“Go get Antanasia. We will attack them with warning…try to injure a few of them. They are training to defeat us, my brother. We can’t have this.”

“Yes Fredrik…”

“And Edmund?”

He turned and looked at his brother.

“Don’t fail me this time. If Ceaser gets in the way, simply…make him regret his decision.”

Edmund grinned mischievously before going to get Antanasia.

They were to attack at dawn.

“Pull back and focus.” Claudia said.

“Hannah, I love you. You’re my favorite and only sister in law. Please, oh please, don’t miss the apple.”

“Thanks for having faith in me, Caleb...” Hannah muttered.

She caught something in her peripheral vision and aimed in that direction. Her eyes widened and she let the arrow go, shooting it at her target.

“You missed comple-“ Caleb stopped talking when he saw what she was looking at.

Edmund.

She grabbed another arrow and aimed at him. He lunged at her. Tristan saw what was happening and began to run just as Claudia did to knock Hannah out of the way. She shot the arrow, making Claudia and Tristan stop in their tracks. Edmund fell and hissed as he ripped the arrow out. Missed his heart by a few inches…A woman attacked Claudia from behind as Edmund got off of the ground. He tackled Hannah to the ground as Caleb went to aid Claudia. Tristan had gone to alert the others. She was struggling against him.

“Edmund, it doesn’t have to be this way!”

“It must as your blood will be spilt tonight.”

“I have seen your fate; it doesn’t have to be this way.”

“I win and you die, who wouldn’t want that.”

“Guess again.”

He was thrown off of her before a sword was shoved through his heart. Sebastian twisted the blade, making Edmund scream out in pain. He struggled.

“H…hurry Hannah, break his neck.”

Her eyes widened.

“Hannah!”

She stood and grabbed his head before forcefully twisting. He stopped moving, his body lifeless. She backed away a few steps.

“Sorry you had to be the one to do that.” Sebastian said.

She shook her head.

“Just um…have to get used to these things.”

“Caleb!” Claudia screamed.

Hannah and Sebastian turned to see Claudia trying to stab him with her stake. He was struggling against her. A man was going to attack Claudia from behind when Victor came out of nowhere, attacking the man. Claudia grabbed a handful of the woman’s hair and yanked her back. She ripped the stake out of her hand and threw it to Caleb.

“Antanasia.”

She stopped struggling against Claudia who had her own stake, ready to make the vampire world short one.
