Hudson Celeste POV
"How did you not send the equipment to sergeant Bush?" I ask Ash, again my best idiot friend.
"Oh come on, he started it, if he truly wants to work in peace then he has to apologize for making me look stupid during practice last week", he shook his head and tried to avoid eye contact while we were walking to the dining room.
"Is saying you're wrong about some facts around tying a knot so bad?" I could barely finish my sentence when Ash interrupted me
"Oh Hudson oh prince Hudson, when I am in-front of my young knights then I must look like I know exactly what I'm doing. That also means knowing how to tie a perfect knot" he pinches his fingers together like I've only seen Italians do.
I shake my head in disagreement, the servants open the doors and we entire the dining room.
"Don't worry I'll take care of the shipment and Bush" Ash says to me
"Excellent, I do not want any...trouble" my eyes stop at Mary while I'm slowly sitting down. She looks different, I think it's the hair. She has never styled her hair like this before. It was dark brown as usual but curled in the bottoms and it reached up to her bottom. Her bangs were no longer clipped but left on the sides. Some of her was more on her right side which left more of a seductive look to her.
I hear a whistle, "Your highness you look absolutely beautiful this morning", Ash eyes her up and down. I lift my leg and kick him under the table.
He holds in a groan and looks at me with fury.
I focus my eyes on Mary, she peeps back at me confused, "He is going to be fine...and you do look exquisite today" I actually smiled at her. Have I gone mad? What am I even saying at this moment? I need help i-i need to take a trip somewhere far from her.
"You should invite some of your friends over this next week" I studied my plate of bread, fruits and some butter. I got to keep my eyes away from her or she'll put me in her little spell.
"Why would I do that?", she questioned me, while sipping on some tea.
"Because I will be going on a trip for a week. Ash and I have business to attend to in Scotland '' I apply butter to my bread, enjoying the way the butter immediately melts when touching the hot bread.
"We do?" he asks me
"Yes we do Ash. You have completely forgotten as always", i chuckle to hide my guilt for lying.Turning to look at ash, gesturing to him to continue with this lie.
"...ah yes, we do '', the idiot rolls his eyes.
"Oh...well of course the king is busy. Have fun in Scotland, I hear there are delightful festivals", I watch as her face becomes more dull and sorrow fills her eyes. I force my eyes to face back at my plate. Who cares if she's upset. I'm the one who's stuck with someone they don't even want to marry.
