So this is it. We are here. The rest of my life begins now.
I slowly open the car door and examined all of the people and the school.
The people looked pretty normal but the school looked like a school. All is good.
Michael took my hand in his when he saw how concerned I looked.
I looked down at his hand and then back at him and smiled.
We walked into the school hand in hand and everyone was giving us weird looks but I just shook them off.
We walked in the school doors and he directed me towards the office.
"Hi this is Becca Robertson, she's a new student," Michael said to the lady at the desk.
"Hi Becca. Welcome too Green Way High School."
"Thanks," I said smiling.
"Here's your schedule," she handed me a white sheet of paper with various things written on it.
"and Michael, you'll get yours later," she said furrowing her eyebrows at Michael.
We walked out of the office and I gave Michael a weird look.
"I don't think it's a good thing when one of the office lady's knows your name," I questioned.
"Well I'm kinda in there a lot. I'm a bad boy," he sent me a wink making me blush uncontrollably.
"Wow. Never would've guessed that. Why couldn't she just gave you your schedule right then?"
"They'll get passed out at the senior assembly."
"Oh, nice," I nodded.
I went to my locker to put all my stuff away and then we walked to the gym because the seniors had to meet there for the assembly. I assumed they were going to talk about college and how "the school years not over yet so don't slack off!" All that jazz. Also for everyone to get their schedules. That's what Michael said at least.
"It's like a half hour assembly," he told me with a sigh.
"That's not that bad," I laughed.
"Whatever, it still sucks. Plus, I already heard it last year. They just say the same shit every time."
"Well that's what you get for failing English," I laughed.
"And math," he added making me roll my eyes playfully.
We walked into the gym and saw Ali, Luke, Ashton, and Calum sitting at the top. It looked like Ali was saving us seats. She saw me and waved like a maniac for us to come up there.
"Hey," I said sitting down next to her.
"Hey did you get your schedule okay?"
"Yeah, it was actually really easy," I said satisfied.
A man with a microphone walked out. I'm assuming it was the principle.
"Alright everyone settle down. Settle down," he urged.
Everyone stopped talking and gave him their undivided attention.
"So how is everyone?"
Everyone either shrugged or had no reaction.
"So I know this is your last year here... but that doesn't mean you can cause a bunch of trouble. Let's finish high school on a good note. Alright?"
Everyone cheered, already excited for the year to be over.
"I hope everyone has a good year and I hope to not see any of you in my office," I looked at Michael and and he just shook his head and shrugged. Meaning 'no promises.'
The principle just babbled on about a bunch of other stupid unnecessary stuff.
"Now everyone can go to the hallway where you'll receive your final high school schedule. Just go to the table that has your last name initial and tell them your name," then everyone stood up and went to the hallway. I stayed with Michael though because I already had my schedule.
Once he got his we stood in a corner and looked at them to see if we had any classes together.
"Hey we have 1st, 3rd, 6th, and 7th period together." Michael pointed out.
"Wow. I can spend the beginning and end of my day with you," I said laughing.
He smiled and we both walked to first period together. It was English.
As I walked in the classroom everyone was giving me weird looks. Michael told me not to acknowledge them so I didn't. I walked in and the teacher immediately had to introduce me and embarrass me.
"Oh class, we have a new student... her name is Becca Robertson," the teacher said pointing at me. Then everyone turned around and looked at me. I waved shyly and a boy winked at me. I really hope Michael didn't see.
I smiled to myself. I probably shouldn't say this since I have a boyfriend but, he was cute.
The teacher began talking about the expectations for the class and what we would be doing all year. Normal first day of school stuff.
If every teacher is as boring as he then this is going to be one long year.
When the bell finally rang I walked out of that hell hole of a class room and went to my locker and so did Michael.
"Hey, I'm Josh," the boy that winked at me leaned up against the locker next to mine.
"Oh hi, I'm Becca."
"I know," he smirked.
I grabbed my stuff and started walking to my next class but he followed me.
"Hey so you're new here right?" I nodded, "you need anyone to show you around?" he winked. Okay, this guy was kind of cocky.
"Uhm... yeah, I guess," I said nervously.
"Here, let me see your schedule," he took my schedule out of my hands and looked at it.
"Oh, I have next period with you. Just follow me," he smiled. Oh great, can't wait.
We both walked to class together and also sat next to each other. The teacher introduced me again and did practically the same expectations lecture that we would be hearing all day long.
The next two periods went by fast. Then it was lunch. The one period where I could actually see all my friends.
As I was walking into the lunchroom. Someone bumped into me.
"Oh I'm sorry-" I looked at the person and realized it was just Josh.
"Oh, it's you," I said kinda annoyed.
"You seem disappointed?"
"You know... you're kinda cocky," I said not even caring at this point.
"Thanks, babe. It's what I do," no way. Only Michael can call me that.
"Please don't call me that," I said seriously.
"Why not... babe," I'm about to punch this kid.
"Because I have a boyfriend."
"Really? Who?"
"Michael Clifford," he started laughing and I was confused but I ignored him. I sighed of relief when I saw all my friends sitting at a table.
"Have fun with that," he said before I walked away. I was beyond confused.
"God these people I swear," I said sitting down next to Calum.
"What?" Calum asked.
"This dude won't stop bugging me. He keeps flirting with me and I told him I had a boyfriend."
"What's his name?" Michael said sounding angry.
"Josh."
Everyone looked at Michael.
"Don't talk to him again," he said with a straight face.
"Why not..?" I asked confused.
"Because I said so. He's no good Becca."
