"She's back!?"

"She's back!?"

"That's the lass! Hurry get the chief and his wife!"

Merida was surrounded by her townsfolk giving her hugs and bid her safety a blessing. She could only smile and return their affection.

"Out of the way!"

"Where's my daughter!"

Merida heard the familiar voices she dearly missed for so long. She turned around and saw them...her dad and mum running towards her.

"Merida dear!"

"Mum! Da!"

She ran towards their warm embrace and finally let out another cry of content. She heard her mom and father cry as well. She could only hold them tighter, not waiting to let go, afraid if she did they would disappear.

"My precious dear, your home!"

Her mother quickly grabbed her face and started pecking her happily. Merida let out a giggle, she had forgotten about her moms antics towards her and how it reminded her how she missed them.

"How...how did you manage to escape?" Fergus put a hand on his daughter's shoulder in concern.

"You're father was about to head out this evening to rescue you."

"I.......I....Im tired. Can we talk about this tomorrow."
Merida face fell at the mention of the castle and the things she left behind.

"Of course dear. Just look at you! You have bags under your eyes! I could only imagine the horrors you went through." Elinor caressed her daughter hair as she hugged her once more.

"Yes, horrors." Merida whispered under her breath.

"That damn beast! Once I get my hands on him I'll kill him slowly so he sees the pain you went through!" Fergus spat in hate, clutching his fist in anger.

"No!" Merida shouted at her fathers words.

"No?"

"Please don't. I don't want.....to remember and don't want you near there again dad. I'm here now isn't that all that matter?"

"...." Fergus stood in thought, looking at his daughter's pleading eyes. He was about to argue but noticed his daughter's heavy tired expression. The last thing he wanted was for his daughter to keep remembering that place.

He softened his look and gave a small nod to her in agreement.

Merida smiled and hugged him tightly.
"Thank you."

" Let's get you inside my dear, so you can rest."

Merida let out a sigh as she laid in her bed. Moments before she had her wee brothers in her bedroom talking and telling her all the mischief they had cause and the plan they had to rescue her. Now she was left alone with her thoughts once more. What now? Do I just sit, stay and obey?

She felt uneasy just sitting comfortably while her friends back at the castle were still in trouble. She really did wish she could've broken the curse and set them all free and set him free. She wouldn't ask anything of him just to tell her how to break it. That's what had gotten her to explode with anger. She had given him her trust but he had not all that time. Was she just entertainments for for him? Was it even all real? Was it just a dream?

Merida groan her head aching once more.

Knock knock

"Come in."
