Simon Ghost Riley: POV

Of course, she didn't remember me. Why would she? It's been 8 years since then. We used to be lovers, dating for about 6 years when I left her for work. I was promoted to Lieutenant and I wanted to put my time into work, not a relationship. 

I shut the bathroom door, my eyes darting to the mirror. I reached behind my head and gripped off the mask, taking it off along with the balaclava. I let them fall to the floor as I see my dirty reflection of who I am. I'm a man with black makeup around my blue eyes, sweat dripping off my short, dirty blond hair, my scarred nose and cheeks, and my busted lip.

I never took care of my appearance because, well, who needed it when you wore a mask all day. I reached for my towel to start removing the black makeup, realizing I left it on my bed. Noises grumbled out under my breath as I cursed at myself. 

I left the bathroom going over to my bed, feeling a pair of eyes stare at me. "What?" My voice snapped at her. "You're not wearing your mask," She spoke softly, still glaring at me. 

"So?" I looked at her for a second and she stared at me. It felt awkward that she was staring at me. "Stop staring Sargeant" My gruff and deep voice spoke at that moment

I gripped the towel and started walking into the bathroom leaving the girl to think to herself.

𝐍𝐨𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲'𝐬 𝐏𝐎𝐕

Ghost left the bathroom after showering, wearing a black shirt that hugged his muscles perfectly and black comfy pants. He noticed that Poison had changed out of her uniform and into a short sleeve shirt and pajama pants. She was sitting on her bed, petting Oso as it was asleep in her lap.

He sat on his cot eyeing her up the entire time. He didn't feel comfortable since she had seen a different side of him. She eventually fell asleep with Oso, Ghost staying up most of the night to watch her. The morning rolled around and she got up heading to the bathroom with her uniform.

Ghost was dressed and by Price already. All the soldiers met Price and Ghost in a big meeting room. Poison met up with Isaac there, having small conversations about their roommates. 

"Okay soldiers, today we are doing training. More specifically, hide & kill. You will be given a flag and paired up with another person. The goal is to get the most flags collectively, and once you lose your flag, meet me back at the starting place" Price talked about what the training was, Poison was skilled with stealth close combat so she was ready for it. 

All of them boarded the plane, Poison sitting in the back with Isaac and a soldier named Gaz. As they went out to the battlefields, the girl started getting to know some of the soldiers. There was Soap McTavish, Gaz Garrick, and Keegan Russ who she all met and got to know better.

Once they arrived at the fields, she was paired up with Soap; while Isaac was grouped with a random recruit who was not the nicest person. Soap and Poison both headed out to a location among a massive, abandoned village. The two went to the clock tower which gave them a better advantage amongst the other teams. 

"Okay Soap, you ready to kick some ass?" She had a grin on her face as she looked up at the male who was very much taller than her. "Let's get these fuckers" His Scottish accent made his threatening sentence a lot less scary than it should've. 

She scooped out some smaller and weaker teams, easily getting their flags (collecting them like pieces of candy).

After 3 hours of being out there, She was sitting up high in a tree, drinking water when a crackle of a branch was heard. Her eyes peered down seeing Gaz, who was hiding behind the tree for protection. 

She investigated her surroundings when she found a strip of tree bark and a thick branch that was able to hold her weight. She gripped onto it. With all the support, she lowers herself down slowly as to get down from the tall height of the tree, instead of just dropping all the way down and hurting him. 

She finally stopped after a bit of going down the tall tree, she stood on a stable enough branch. With a quick movement, Sora jumped down onto his back, forcing Gaz to the floor as she sat on his back.

After a bit of him struggling, she was able to grab his flag off of his thigh that was tied together. "Where were you?" He asked her as she helped him up off the ground. 

"I was all the way in the tree" She put the flag in her pocket. Gaz made his way to the start as she continued hunting for more flags. 

Price came on the radio, "the two people left are Ghost and Gonzalez". Poison felt a pressure when she realized it was just her and Ghost. 

She knew it was time to prove her skill, prove that she was more than just a girl; she was a soldier.
