Ch-14 | reason

December 19, 1993, Friday

Nora's POV

My classes just got over so I was currently on my way to my dorm. I need some fucking sleep. I gotta wake up early for breakfast which means a lesser time to rest. I can't help it if I can't sleep until 23:00.

I opened my dorm with the key and walked in and fell onto my bed.

I sighed. I don't know what is happening in life. I just got to Hogwarts and started learning magic.

Life can be so unpredictable. I walked to the bathroom and washed my face and changed into a pair of black shorts and a minion yellow oversized t shirt.

I walk to my bed and start to wonder about what I should do after studying and I then realised I was way more tired than I thought.
I fell into deep sleep. I don't have an idea about that sudden intense topic.

Draco's POV

I was being dumb. I WAS dumb. I was not gonna do it. I won't do it.

And...

I did it.

Knock knock

I knocked Carlton's door. "Just a second!" She yelled from in there and after a few seconds the door opened.

She made eye contact with me and rolled her eyes. "I thought it was my food," she said and asked what I wanted.

"You've just been eating and didn't give me a good idea," I spat.

"Excuse me! I didn't give you a good idea? My idea was not in fault. If you can't stop being bitchy then I'm sorry I can't help you" she finished.

"What did I do?!"

"What did you do? Malfoy, are you acting dumb or are you really dumb? Ryt! You are dumb."

"If you can't control your bully ass, not me, no one can help you" she said.

"I've never bullied her!" I exclaimed. "Oh. Do you not get it? She would like you better if you ain't a prejudiced person,"

I pondered about it and she spoke.

"You should first find a valid reason why you wanna be her friend and then do it,"

I mumbled a fine and walked back to my room.

I need a reason.

I have been thinking of why I wanna be her friend for like the last one and half hour and I still don't have a good reason.

By what Carlton said, maybe I should stop being rude to people.

God.. this is too much stress.

I sighed and went out of my dorm to go for a walk by the lake.

The air was chilly and it was slightly snowing. I looked at the dark lake and pondered. What is the actual reason?

Lemme see, when I first saw her I was just surprised about her being a witch and was from a famous pure blood family.

The second time was in the great hall when she got sorted, I was disappointed that she wasn't in Slytherin house.

And then I had this urge to befriend her but didn't know why or how.

I was zoned out for hours that I didn't see the time. The curfew starts in 15. So, I hurried back to the castle.

Then I knew what I should say to her.

Nora's POV

It was Sunday already. I completed all my works yesterday so I can hang out with the Quadro for some pizza and games and life stories probably.

I was now in the courtyard. It was a bit cold out here. But the weather was peaceful. It's 15:00 and I'm gonna go to Iris' dorm in like a hour or so.

I looked around and saw a guy and a girl laughing and walking about. I have friends, yes. But I've always wanted a guy friend since 6 or smthn.

Draco was some case. I'm not very fond of Harry, but Ron is a bit fun to be around. I pulled my mobile out and put on my airpods.

I played a song that I felt like hearing.

I started humming and walked out to the black lake. When I reached there no one was around so I started singing to myself.

I remember you drivin' to my house in the middle of the night, I'm the who makes you laugh when you know you're 'bout cry..

Draco's POV

I was walking to the black lake, again. I felt like sitting there for a while and then find Addams.

When I reached there I heard a voice singing. It was faint. I turned around and saw Nora, she was sitting on a bench near a tree.

I walked over to her, she had her eyes closed so she didn't see me sitting next to her.

She was wearing her airpods (I was extremely bored and looked through my muggle studies book).

After a good few minutes she opened her eyes and pulled another gadget of hers out.

She noticed me and shrieked. "Fuck.. you didn't have to scare me like that you know."

I chuckled and she gave me a weird expression. "What do you want, Malfoy?" She asked.

" I have been asking you something and you're constantly denying" I sighed and looked at the lake.

She took her airpods off and spoke "And I told you why"

"Listen Addams," I said in a calm and soft tone that I never knew existed. " To be completely honest I have no idea why I wanna befriend you,"

"I just thought it would be nice to be your friend after seeing how close and happy you are around your friends."

Nora's POV

What on earth is going on in my life?!

First I come to a place that I thought didn't exist and I can't go to at all.

And now my crush wanna befriend me so badly.

Wait- did I get pulled into a parallel universe or something?

Nvm, Iris is still as dumb as ever.

"I- Your point?" I stuttered out. He looked at me in the eyes and said, "Nott and Zabini are the close friends i have but i want someone else I wanna talk to."

My gawd..

I smiled at him and said "Then I guess you would be my friend, Draco," I stretched my hand to shake his.

He smiled and shook my hand, his smile was giddy and cute. Obviously I find it cute.

"Do you wanna meet my other friends too? They are fun to be around ,"

"Sure, anyone but Carlton," he smiled. "What?" I asked and he shook his head.

"I've had some interactions with that witch and I can be sure we can't stay in a room for too long before we try to kill each other"

"Well that is a bit expected," I giggled.
