Just like what was always happening before, Keisha never stopped talking.
She filled the whole vehicle with a lot of words, giggles, and cries.
Kanina pa siya daldal nang daldal but I was struggling to pay attention because I was observing everyone and everything.
I counted inside my head and I already counted 16,020 seconds-4 hours and 27 minutes, when the van we were in went through a forest.
I mastered counting because that was all I did when Kian jailed me in China. I counted days and nights while banging my head on the wall to make the voices go away.
I closed my eyes because of the memory and tried my best to get myself back to reality.
The road was bumpy and rocky so our bodies were jumping from the seats. It was also dark because of the towering trees around that deprived us from the moonlight so I sought for light.
Kahit na kaunting liwanag lang...even just a glimpse, but there was nothing. My heart drummed against my chest and it made me struggle to breathe so I clutched on my wet soaked down like it would help me.
I tried my best to not make the girls notice that I was having a panic attack but miserably failed because seconds later, I was already gasping.
I heard Mika say something in Japanese to the driver but I didn't clearly hear it because their voices were muffled. All I could hear was my own sharp intake of breaths.
The van drove faster until I saw a faint light from afar kaya unti-unti akong kumakalma.
"Sandra, just breath in...breath out..." Loreen was guiding me how to properly take in oxygen like it was my first time, but her voice was now clearer compared to earlier na parang nasa ilalim ako ng tubig.
"That's very good, Sandy." Keisha commented when I started to relax my muscles.
"We're near." Mika said while looking at me through the rearview mirror.
Her face was still blank and void of any emotions but for some reason, I knew that she was worried so I nodded.
I waited patiently until the van drove inside a huge black Victorian gate that was guarded by uniformed men.
When we stopped, somebody opened the door from the outside, and he was also wearing black just like the men earlier and the big mansion behind him.
It must be Mika's house. I guessed that not just because it was black, but also because we went through mazes and a literal forest before we got here.
I don't know what or who she really was, but I don't care.
A maid came rushing to us and gave me a bathrobe dahil basang-basa parin ako at nilalamig na.
There were a lot of people roaming around, not until we entered the mansion na puro itim parin ang makikita because the walls and other things were painted in that color.
"Sandy, change into something first."
I flinched and moved away when Keisha suddenly touched me so she quickly took a step back and I noticed a forming tear in her eyes.
"I'I-m sorry...I j-just.." I struggled to find words. "I'll change my clothes." I swallowed and quickly took the clothes she was handling to me earlier.
I also asked where the bathroom was. Itinuro niya sa akin 'yon at sinamahan ako hanggang sa labas.
"We're just outside, okay?" She softly said after I locked the door.
I nodded at her even though she couldn't see me before taking off my gown and cleaning myself with warm water. I closed my eyes as it flowed down my face up to my body because it felt so good because in six years, I always bathe in cold freezing water.
