“Bye everyone.” I smiled as they all left the house.

“Is Charlie coming over soon? I don’t want you all alone.” Dad asked me. He was wearing a green T-shirt with ‘Livin’ with luck’ and a pair of dark blue jeans.

“She called me to say that she’s running late.” I informed him.

“She didn’t call me.” Cameron frowned.

“Is your phone even on Cameron?” Avery smirked. She was sitting on the dark staircase with her headphones around her neck. She was wearing a pair of pink demin shorts and a white top with Army wrote on the chest. Aubrey was wearing something more suitable for the weather. She wore purple skinny jeans and a white top with long sleeves. Over that she wore a purple jumper.

“Shut up Avery.” Cameron groaned. “You’re not even funny.”

“I am too! Take that back!” She shouted. She pushed her white sunglasses onto her head so Cameron could see her eyes.

“I’m going in my car.” Cameron announced. He fished his keys out of his pocket and stood up.

“Can I go with you?” Aubrey asked quietly. She looked away from the book she was reading to look at Cameron. “Please?”

“Okay, I can stand you. You’re not as bad as.” He looked at Avery. “It.”

Cameron and Aubrey pulled their bags out to Cameron’s black BMW and left. Mom and Dad were putting the bags into the car when Kylie arrived.

“What’s going on?” She asked. Her hair was knotted and she looked like she hadn’t slept.

“We’re going to Grandma’s.” Avery smiled.

“I’m not going.” Kylie snapped. She turned around to look at Mom and Dad.

“Your bags packed, you're going.” Dad told her.

“Fine, but I better be allowed to go to Marcie’s when I’m there.” She walked back into the house to get the things they didn’t pack like her Ipod, Laptop and various other things she used to dodge communication with.

"Well, someone's in a lovely mood." Avery pointed out.

"Avery." Dad glared at her and she looked away.

"Nobody seems to like me today." Avery stated.

"Nobody ever likes you Avery." Kylie snapped as she pushed past Avery to get up the stairs.

"Kylie! Tell her that isn't true Maddie!" Avery looked at me and I shrugged.

"You are annoying at times."

"I hate you."

"Love you too."

"Okay guys! We're going!" Mom shouted. Kylie walked downstairs after changing her outfit. She was wearing a white top with skulls on it, black leather trousers and a army print scarf.

"Hey! They're my shoes!" I shouted. "I'm only borrowing them." She smirked. She sat down on the step beside me and started pulling my black studded boots on.

"They were sixty-five dollars! You better not ruin them." I hissed.

"So what if I ruin them, you can buy another pair." She stood up and walked out the door.

"Bye Sweetie. Text us when Charlie comes over. There's food in the fridge if you get hungry, okay?" Mom hugged me quickly.

"Okay, she said she was only going to be an hour late. I have homework to do anyway." I told her.

Mom smiled and walked out the door to the car.

I quickly locked the front door and ran up the stairs. I opened the door to my room and sat down.

3...2...1.

Bang!

The gates were closed and the coast was clear.
