Chapter 3 They Came at Night

Panting, my bones and muscles were acing and felt like there were being torn, I had been brought to Mr Dawson's home, and I was currently laying on the ground in pure agony I could hear my bones breaking and shifting Mr Dawson's faint voice the background "I know it hurts, but you're doing so well, you're almost there" I've lost count how many times he has said this now, I've been here for hours, body twisting and repositioning, I felt my nails protruding out of my fingers, my teeth growing, screams and cries came from me, all while that fucking asshole watched and spouted nothing but words he thought that helped!! 

Eventually, the pain stopped I was laying there panting and tired  I was done, for now, "Oh wow... aren't you a pretty little thing..." I heated from Mr Dawson I opened my eyes to glare at him and slowly pushed myself up "Shut... up.." is what I wanted to say but what came out was low growls which scared me, I practically jumped out of my skin as I shot up skidding across the floor looking around before looking down my eyes widened seeing large pure white paws 'no, no, no this isn't happening' i started to freak out I started to rub at my face, well more like paw, that was before I felt a strong hand grab the joint of what I hoped was my wrist, it was not it was still the ankle of a white fury leg "Eva... it's okay... You're alright" Mr Dawson's voice came trying to soothe me but that wasn't the best thing to do. 

I lunged at him jaws chopping and growls coming from me "WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME?!" large growls rumbled through my chest as he rangled me off him, he was strong and seemed accustomed to this, he held me down and sighed "calm down... I didn't do anything you will turn back, but for now, you need to just try and sleep okay?... your wolf wants to run but its dangerous hunters are here... tomorrow we'll leave and I'll take you somewhere safe... where you'll belong" he tried to convince me but I was into much shock, I didn't understand, what was happening to me, why am I a dog 'Wolf... and I've been trying to tell you this whole time... you didn't want to listen... just listen to the hot guy above us and do as he says' she purred in suggestion, I growled once again but this time at my wolf 'horny bitch...' is all I said to her before I felt myself get released.

Mr Dawson had let me go and backed up "Look I don't want to hurt you I just want to help... now my room is over there, you can stay in there for the night I will stay out here you can even lock the door if you're uncomfortable," he said with a smile but I stared at him dumbfounded, lock the door? how was I supposed to do that with these? I looked down at the large paws on the ground before looking back at him "Or... You can't... oh I'll lock it and then pass the key under the door okay? You do not need to be afraid" I couldn't argue, I couldn't go home looking like this, I turned with a huff and swish of my tail and stalked off to the room he had pointed at, once I closed it by nudging it with my head, so embarrassing... 

The door was locked and I saw a key get poked through I sighed in relief he kept his word "Goodnight Eva... we'll talk about this tomorrow" he said through the door before I heard his footsteps quieten, I was stared around the room I didn't like this, it was new and scary but what could I do, I dropped my head and went to the bed jumping onto it and flopped down, at least I was warm without a blanket. 

Hours had passed and I had fallen asleep quickly after laying down, it was a peaceful and comfortable night so I hadn't noticed myself shift back, I had managed to wrap the blanket around myself and continued to sleep asleep so deep I failed to notice another thing, a breeze softly wafting through the window the very quiet footsteps making their way towards me and the quiet whispering, I noticed far too late.

feeling an eery presence standing over me, groans came me as I slowly woke, eyes fluttering open as I slowly looked up "Mr... Dawson?..." I queried, but no two men one about to inject me with something "MR!...MPH!" as I was about to shout for the man who had been caring for me a hand clamped over my mouth hands pinned me down and a searing pain shot through my neck screams and struggles came from me, I tried to fight back but whatever they injected in me started to take effect and fast I felt myself grow weaker, and start to burn up, my throat clench and pain started to emit growing from my neck to my chest, everything was going blurry as i tried to fight off whoever was attacking me. 

The next thing I knew was a flash of black, loud growls, and something wet splattering over the side of my face, blood, I could smell it, so much of it, it the sound of struggles and growls didn't last long, I focused my eyes through the watery mass that clouded them and glanced around, the two attackers dead, one was beheaded, the other torn open, I felt my heart race in fear as I stared, a large black wolf standing over the one torn open turned to me, cracking of bones was heard I closed my eyes from cringing at the sound and from the pain that was getting worse, I felt myself get picked up by large warm arms holding my blanket bundled body close "I'm sorry... I should have been here sooner... I'll take you somewhere safe... somewhere that can heal you" I glanced up for a brief moment and saw his eyes darken over going somewhat distant and that was the last thing I saw. 

Jason Dawson's POV

I held this short young woman close as I raced to my car, she was dying and it was my fault, I should have kept watch, stayed awake and double-checked the surroundings, 'Alpha Andrews!' I yelled in the mind link I knew I woke him up 'Jason... do you know what time it is..." he grumbled tiredly as I set Evangeline in the passenger seat, securing her and making sure she was comfortable 'wait what's wrong, what's the panic about...' he added feeling my worry through the link 'hunters... we're attacked..' 'We?... what do you mean we? I sent you alone Jason' he cut me off in a warning voice as I got into the driver's seat and started it up 'I found a pup, an Orphan, she only just turned of age her first shift was tonight, a few hours ago, she didn't know she was one of us she thought she was human after I left her to sleep, I woke up to her screaming, hunters had gotten in they injected her with a mixture of silver and wolfsbane... a high dosage of it, she's not doing so well...' i explained as I started driving as quickly as I could out of the city 'i understand... bring her here as fast as you can I'll meet you outside the hospital with a pack doctor... she must be terrified..." equal amounts of worry coming from my alpha "I'm already headed there...' and with that the link cut.

I glanced at the pale girl beside me guilt rushed through me as I stepped on the peddle, this should have never happened... 'it's not your fault it's those damn hunters, they hurt an innocent pup!' my wolf roared in anger makin' me sigh "I know Jax...and we will make them pay..." 

the drive was long, three hours without a break, I was terrified for Evangeline's condition, it was worsening, small cries and wheezes came from her as she lay unconscious in my passenger seat but we got to the pack and I stopped outside of the hospital I saw my young alpha and some of the pack healers. I got out rounding the car and made sure Eva was wrapped properly and picked her up quickly bringing her to the group "I can carry her lead the way" I said quite quickly, a small growl came from the Alpha which I glanced to confused before I shrugged it off and followed the healers in running to an emergency room setting her down. 

once she was settled I stepped back watching the doctors take over, they started to connect drips and machines, and they started to remove the blankets from the girl so they could dress her but froze when the loudest growl came to the a;pha once more "don't touch her!" his eyes were black, his wolf had taken over as he glared daggers at one of the male doctors that were doing his job, everyone was confused before realisation hit "oh... shit... you out! send a female doctor in or a mated doctor" I ordered the doctor who bowed and did as  he was told realising the situation, I turned to Damian but he walked over to Evangeline with a worried and heartbreaking expression gently cupping her face "My mate..."  he whispered out, it was quiet but we all heard it, all we could do was hope Eva would stay alive and respond well to treatment

Please moon goddess... let her recover for the Alpha's sake...
