Confrontation! The misuse of the med bay

~Present~

Alexis laid cuddling up next to Kid, she really had missed this. Kid had his arms wrapped around her as they just laid there, content to just be. Alexis hadn't felt this happy since before the incident 3 months ago. She was happy to finally be able to hold Kid again, happy that the anger and hurt was slowly fading away. She was excited to start looking forward to the future. Though she still had one more thing to do before she could be completely satisfied with this situation.

Kid kisses the top of her head. "You need to talk to Trafalgar."

She nods with a sigh. "I know. He deserves to know he wasn't the reason I was avoiding him." She said as she slowly sat up. Kid watched her climb out of bed, dressing in her discarded clothes.

"And you should move back in here with us." He said matter-of-factly.

She rolled her eyes. "If you ask nicely. Besides, has Pretty Eyes even let you back in the room yet?" She teased, grinning for the first time in a long while.

Kid smiles happy to see that smile again. "Anything for you, Princess. And technically no, but I haven't ask to yet."

She laughed. "Be careful what you say, Red. I might take you up on it." She teased before she turned to leave, making her way to the one place she knew Law would be at. She didn't wish to admit it, but she was nervous.

She was currently standing nervously outside the med bay door, fist hovering in the air to knock. She had lost all her confidence. What if scenarios were rushing by in her mind.

Just when she forced herself to finally knock, the door opened. She sighed in relief that it was just Chopper. He grinned up at her before calling into the room. "Traffy, Alexis is here to see you!" She started panicking again, but she had to quickly remind herself why she was there. Alexis nodded her thanks to Chopper as he left, closing the door behind him. This left her alone with the very man she was nervous to talk to.

Even though Law had heard what was said while with Kid, he was still hurt she pulled away from him instead of talking. He was in the midst of a mental debate about what he was supposed to do next, but was pulled out of his thought when Chopper called out to him.

His hands tightened on the table as he heard her slowly approach him. He refused to look at her. He wasn't sure how he would react if he did. Alexis sat down in a nearby chair, not sure if her legs would hold up on her if she continued to stand. She looked down at her hands folded in her lap while taking a deep breath. With that she finally decided to speak. "Look Law, I-I'm sorry....." She teared up slightly. "I haven't been honest or there for you recently like I should have been. I'm a mess. My emotions are all over the place." She paused to gather her thoughts. Law remained quiet throughout this. "When I saw the looks you two gave each other, it made me think that you'd be okay now and then the emotions I suppressed hit me like a train. So even if I wanted to feel a sliver of what you two felt for each other, I couldn't bring myself to do so. I was trying to work through everything for myself this time." She looked outside the window. "Then I thought you two would be better off without me. That if it wasn't for me, then you wouldn't have had to go through all that pain. That you wouldn't have had to suffer."

Law turned to face her. "I had known that you were hurting too, I knew. I just wished you would have been open with me. I gave you time, not wanting to call you out on it. Instead you pulled away. After everything we've been through I thought you would have trusted me more. I wanted to be there for you too."

She looks down not able to meet his gaze as she listened quietly to what he had to say. "You're right, I should have trusted you more. I was trying to not burden you with any of it. I wanted to deal with it on my own. You had been through enough."
