Episode 51: A Bridge too Close: Part 2

"Autobot Base (Michigan), 5:55 P.M"

A call comes across the comm systems, alerting the Autobots in the main area.

Sentinel Prime: ::Sentinel Prime to Base! Do you copy?::

Ratchet: Affirmative!

Sentinel Prime: ::Remember that backup we talked about earlier? We could really use it right about now!::

Optimus Prime: Understood.

Optimus turns to the Autobots. 

Optimus Prime: Autobots, prepare to transform and roll out!

Prowl opens the weapon locker with the press of a remote as the Autobots arm themselves. 

Bulkhead: It's time we fight dirty!

Wheeljack: Time to sweep the leg, Johnny!

Smokescreen: You guys seriously quoting Deadpool right now?

Bumblebee opens a large crate that contains the ancient Iacon relics he and the team retrieved a while back. 

Arcee: You sure you want to go down this route, Bee?

Bumblebee: The entire fate of our galaxy hangs in the balance! We can't afford to pull any punches! We're going in, and we're going in heavy!

Optimus Prime: Bumblebee is correct, Arcee. With the Decepticons mere minutes away from activating Project Nexus, we absolutely cannot afford to hold back a single ounce of our might, not with the threat of an imminent full scale invasion!

Optimus Prime grabs the mighty Star Saber and sheathes it before turning to Ratchet. 

Optimus Prime: Ratchet, activate the skylift!

Bumblebee: Where are you going?

Optimus Prime: I will hold off reinforcements from The Nemesis as long as I can in order to buy you enough time to secure your objective.

Optimus steps onto the skylift as he was quickly lifted up to the roof of the base.

Once outside, Optimus Prime deploys his wings, activates his jetpack, and blasts off into the sky, beginning his trek to outer space.

Back inside the base, Elita-One loads her Plasma Rifle and cocks it.

Elita-One: Ratchet, lock onto Project Nexus' coordinates and fire up the bridge! We're going in!

Ratchet types in the coordinates and activates the spacebridge as he opens a portal with the flick of a lever.

Elita-One: Autobots! Roll out!

The Autobots transform and ride through the spacebridge, one by one before it closes behind them.

Ratchet: *Sigh* Primus be with us all.

Meanwhile, on the platform, the humans sit back and watch, worried and fearing for the lives of their families and Autobot companions.

"Earth's Moon"

At Project Nexus, Team Sentinel finds themselves in the middle of an intense firefight with Decepticon reinforcements while hiding behind cover. 

Sentinel Prime pulls out his Ion Shotgun Mk. II and fires a burst of shots, taking out several troopers.

Ironhide: FRAG OUT!

Ironhide tosses a Grenade at a squad of Vehicon troopers. 

Vehicon Trooper: GRENADE!!!
