Author POV

Bleep, bleep, bleep.

Oh, for crying out loud.

I nearly tripped over my own feet stumbling out of my bed and shutting the alarm off. 'At least I woke up on time today.' I glanced at the clock, which was off by seven or so minutes. '4:30. Not bad. I want to go back to bed though, but whatever.'

I took a final glance at my messy blonde and blue hair in the mirror and quietly crept down the stairs. I grabbed my iPod and wrote some smut for a few hours until I noticed that the clock had changed to 6 AM.

"Shit," I mumbled, "Can't be late again..." I rushed to get my breakfast together and eaten, and changed into my black skirt and blue blouse. I decided to ditch the tie for today. Tying my thick hair into pigtails instead of my usual ponytail, I grabbed the keys for my #rekt white van, stepped out the front door, and climbed in the front seat.

"Fuck speed limits," I said to myself, "I can't get there late today." Flooring the gas pedal, I nearly avoided my neighbor's mailbox and sped off to pick up Naz and Human so we could go terrorize the FNAF squad.

"Hey," Someone called out from nearby. "What have I told you, Valerie? Quit driving like Italy!"

Only one person had the authority to call me by my real name.

"Black?!" I halted in the middle of the road, causing a loud screeching notice to echo out across the barren street ahead of me.

"The one and only." He said sarcastically. "You're lucky I'm your boyfriend, or else I'd slap you. You nearly ran me over!"

I gulped. "Sorry, Shin, but-"

"No butts except yours out of that van right now. Park it and get out." He shook his head. "You're lucky I cast a spell on that thing to keep normal people from seeing it, otherwise you'd be in jail right now."

"I still don't think I thank you enough for that." I said, pulling over and parking the badly dented van and hopping out.

"Come on." He looked like he was about to drag me by the ear, but he didn't. Thank doge for that.

"It really annoys me when you drive like that, you know?" He said through gritted teeth.

"Yeah, you establish that with me every day I see you." I said. I wasn't really up for another lecture today.

"Then why do you keep driving like that?!" He demanded, stopping in his tracks and looking over at me with those amber and red eyes of his.

"I..." I really didn't know off the top of my head. "Well...I like it. Going fast like that is almost relaxing to me."

"It's not to the rest of us," He said sternly. "Bonnie especially. You've seen what that damn thing's done to him. He's scared to death of kuruma now."

"Oh." I stood there, completely dumbfounded. I knew Bonnie was scared of my van, but I never thought he'd be scared of cars in general.

"Yeah. 'Oh'. Author, come on. Admit it. Sometimes you go too far."

"Just sometimes." I mumbled. 'Come on, Shin, I'm tired. Can't it wait?'

"You need to know when to stop." Black continued. "You're going to get yourself hurt one of these days. I know you don't want that to happen, and I don't want it either." He let out a huff. "Come on. Let's go inside before this becomes a game of Crossy Road."

It was oddly silent as we walked in through his front door. Closing the door behind him, Black brushed his thick black bangs out of his eyes.

"Author..." He paused and brushed his hair out of his face again.

"Here," I dug through one of my pockets and handed him some black bobby pins. "Use these. They won't even show up in your hair anyway." He took them and fastened his bangs back with them.

"Thanks." He said. "Anyway, that van."

"Yes," I said, my wiseass mode kicking in automatically. "It is a van."

Black rolled his eyes. "NAW DUH, THOUGHT IT WAS A TRAIN. Point is, Author, stop with the reckless driving. You're going to get yourself hurt." He sighed. "Don't do that. Please. I...I don't know what I'd do with myself if you died..." A few tears came to my eyes.

"Shin..." I turned my head away, embarrased. FML, why does this always happen? I mess up and right after will I start crying. Fuck hormones right now.

"Don't cry. You're embarrassed, I get that." He wiped some of the tears from my face. "I'm concerned about you. We all are." He held me close to his chest and I let a few more tears roll down my cheek.

"I'm such an idiot...Shin, I'm sorry..." I choked out, not knowing what else to do besides state the obvious.

"You're not an idiot. You're a very bright, energetic person in your own way. You've just made some mistakes is all." I felt him kiss my forehead. On instinct, I blushed.

"Thanks...." I mumbled, still pissed off at myself for earlier. He picked me up off the ground a little and raised me to his lips. We kissed and I felt relieved that we weren't in the middle of the road anymore.

"Thanks," I said again, "Now could ya do me a favor and put me down?" I felt the floor touch my feet again and I hugged him.

"I love you, Shin."

"I love you too, Author."
