Lorenzo's P.O.V

I was sitting in the waiting area, just as anxious as the others to hear a doctors response when I thought I saw my ex girlfriend.

I squinted my eyes in the girls direction and sure enough it was her. I felt the sudden urge to go to her. Why? She left me right? But it wouldn't hurt to see if she's okay.

I got up and walked in her direction and as soon as we made eye contact, time froze. I wanted to speak but my words were all surpressed. "Hey Renny," she said softly. Great! I feel like a chicken now that she spoke first. "Hey Kels," I said. It was an awkward stare for a moment. "Sooo . . . how you been?" "I've been well," she said. I looked at her eyes as she looked at mine and nearly melted. They were not your average brown eyes, but much deeper than that. They looked like something so desirable but had a pit of poison behind them. With that being said, I quickly ended the conversation with a "Oh" and a "See ya around".

As I walked back to my seat I felt her eyes following me. My heart was beating so fast that I might have to the next patient in the waiting room. What was this feeling? Am I unconsciously rekindling an old flame? Nahhhh! And even if it were true, I wouldn't let it happen.

"Family of Caulori Matthews," he stated. I stood along side Gene and Jariell. "Immediate family?" He asked and Gene stepped forward.

"What's wrong with my cousin doc?" He asked with a face full of concern. I could feel his struggle to cope with the situation. He said it himself, She's all he's got.

"Well she was extremely exhausted due to a huge amount of stress. From what I can see, she probably had a anxiety attack. This can be caused by shock, stress, or simple irritations." He said. "As for the fever, I'm still running test but she is fine at the moment; I'd like to keep her over night for safety purposes."

A deep breathe of relief came from Gene. It's as if he was holding it in the entire time.

"Okay but can I see her?" He asked then I quickly cleared my throat. He rolled his eyes. "We," he corrected.

The doctor declined our request saying it's a bit to early. I could see the hurt in his eyes. I just sighed and gave him a pat on the back. He scuffed. " I told you no gay shit," he said. THIS DUDDDEEEEE!

* Monday Afternoon *

It was Monday afternoon and I was very hesitat about answering my phone. I haven't spoken with my mama since yesterday morning when I left. She has called a total of sixteen times already. I know only avoiding her is making it worst. I held my breath and answered.

"Lorenzo DeCarlos Edmundo Jimenez!" She yelled in my ear. "Where are you?!" She said with her very irritating Cuban accent. She then went on ranting about being worried sick about me.

"Mama! I'm fine . . . I'm at the hospital," I told her. "My fr-," she cut me off with what I think was the phone dropping. "Madre!? Hello?" I then heard a loud thud. Jesus Christ! My mama is always fainting when she gets bad news. I can't deal with her now. I hung and decided I'll call back later.

I glanced over to see Cal still in her deep slumber. She is even more beautiful when she's sleep. I smirked at myself. I've been sitting here while Gene, to my surprise, went to school. He's apparently a senior in college. I guess we aren't all what we seem.

I couldn't help but stare at her.

"Don't look at her, think about her or touch her," Gene sternly told me before leaving earlier.

I decided to look at a magazine but my gaze would always wonder back to her.

"It's not nice to stare Zozo," she said.
