I've Always Known (Ash x Serena Amourshipping)

Down to the Fiery Finish!

The Finals of the Lumiose Conference have been high in passion and power. People from around the world were watching the match. Brock and his family watched in excitement. Misty and her sisters were watching from Cerulean City. Professor Oak, Delia Ketchum, and Tracey watched from Oak's lab with Ash's Pokemon. May and Max were watching from Petalburg. Cilan and his brother's restaurant was completely silent. Iris and Drayden were glued to the TV screen. All the Kalos Gym leaders were watching in their gyms. Goodra's friends from the wetlands were gathered in Keenan's house. Serena, Clemont, Bonnie, Trevenant, Sawyer, Trevor, Shauna, and Tierno sat in the stands. The stadium was filled to the absolute brim as the battle raged on.

Pikachu took down Tyranitar. Weavile fainted Noivern. Hawlucha retaliated against Weavile. Bisharp sliced down Hawlucha. Talonflame tied with Unfezant. Pikachu shocked Metagross, leading Alain to send in Charizard. Pikachu eventually fainted, which resulted in Alain switching back to Bisharp.

POV Ash

The battlefield was rocky. Alain and I were left with only two Pokemon. Alain's Bisharp is fierce. It even took down Hawlucha. I need to save Greninja for Charizard. "Go, Goodra!" I shouted. My slimy friend appeared on the battlefield. The bright red and orange band on his tail gave me an idea.

"Bisharp, use Night Slash!" commanded Alain. Bisharp's arms became purple as they rushed across the arena. There was only one way Goodra could beat Bisharp's speed.

"Goodra, use Bide!" I yelled. Goodra braced for impact as Bisharp sliced twice before withdrawing for another attack.

"You've left your Goodra vulnerable!" noted Alain, "While he can't move, Bisharp, use Guillotine!" The blades on Bisharp's arms grew twice their regular size. Goodra looked back and nodded as a red aura surrounded its body.

"Guillotine is gonna knock out Goodra, just like Hawlucha!" cried Bonnie, "I can't watch!"

"There has to be a reason Ash went for Bide," interjected Clemont.

"You can do it, Goodra!" cheered Serena. Bisharp's blades dice right into Goodra's stomach, causing Goodra to stumble back.

"Come on, buddy," I whispered under my breath. Goodra looked dizzy, but then his expression went from dazed to determined. Goodra slammed his foot into the ground and roared. The Focus Band was glowing.

"What?!" realized Alain.

"Goodra! Use Bide!" I exclaimed. The red aura around Goodra was the brightest I've ever seen. A beam of energy was fired from Goodra, engulfing a massive part of the battlefield. Bisharp was caught in the attack. Once the smoke cleared, Bisharp was found lying on the ground.

"Bisharp is unable to battle!" announced Malva, "Goodra is the winner! Alain, send out your last Pokemon." Alain returned Bisharp to its Pokeball.

Alain sighed, "I have no idea how Goodra survived that guillotine, but that doesn't matter. Charizard, let's go!" Charizard appeared on the battlefield again, sending a slight chill down my spine. Goodra looked woozy. "Dragon Claw!" ordered Alain.

"Rain Dance!" I shouted. Goodra made a powerful call before Charizard struck down Goodra with a super-effective attack.

"Goodra is unable to battle," announced Malva, "Charizard is the winner. Ash, send out your last Pokemon. " Rain slowly started falling over the battlefield.

I returned Goodra to its Pokeball and said, "You did an amazing job. Get some rest. Wooper is proud, probably." I took out my last Pokeball and smirked. "Greninja, I choose you!" Grenija appeared on the field.

"You ready?" asked Greninja as he nodded.

"Yep," I responded. Alain raised his Mega Bracelet into the air.

"Ash, I've been waiting for this," smiled Alain as he touched the Key Stone, "Charizard, to go beyond evolution, Mega Evolve!" Streaks of energy from Charizard connected with Alain's. The energy turned white as Charizard began transforming. Mega Charizard X let out a ferocious roar as the symbol of Mega Evolution appeared, releasing a large energy pulse.

"Greninja, together we've been getting stronger and stronger for this moment," I smirked as I felt our hearts connection, "Let's do it Together as One!" Greninja was encased in a veil of water. A burst of energy from Ash-Greninja shook the whole stadium. The water soon became a shuriken on Greninja's back.

"Pika!" cheered Pikachu.

"Charizard, use Thunder Punch!" commanded Alain.

"Greninja, use Night Slash!" I shouted. The two Pokemon met in the middle of the battlefield as a duel of punches and blades occurred. I could feel everything that was going on. I felt it every time Greninja struck Charizard. I could feel it when Charizard was able to hit Greninja. Eventually, both Pokemon slide backward. Charizard took to the stormy skies.

"Greninja, use Water Shuriken!" I exclaimed as we reached for the shuriken.

"Flamethrower!" ordered Alain. The rain-boosted Water Shurkien was too much for Charizard's Flamethrower. The attack nailed the Fire Dragon. Charizard began falling, but it wasn't from fatigue. Charizard used the fall to build up an extreme amount of momentum.

"Dragon Claw!" boomed Alain.

"Block it with Aerial Ace," I nodded. Greninja's knee lit up as Charizard darted across the arena. The rain stopped as the two attacks connected. Greninja was sent flying back by the powerful Dragon Claw. I felt a sharp pain in my side. Greninja looked back and nodded. "Double Team!" I yelled. Tons of copies of Greninja suddenly surrounded Charizard. I tapped my foot on the ground. "Swarm him with Night Slash!" I added.

"Clear the field with Flamethrower," commanded Alain. Blue flames engulfed the copies of Greninja as they tried to slash him with Dark-Type attacks. The clones soon all disappeared in blue bursts of smoke. After the smoke cleared, the real Greninja was not there.

"Huh?" gasped Alain. High in the air was Greninja, preparing for another attack.

"Greninja, use Water Shurkien!" I shouted. Greninja raised his shuriken into the air.

"Charizard, use Blast Burn!" screamed Alain. The ground started glowing. Just like against Sawyer, the Shuriken grew larger and larger. Greninja got closer to the ground. The Shurkien transformed from a regular throwing star into a large orange disc. In perfect sync, Greninja and I threw the Water Shurkien. The ground erupted at the same time we threw the shuriken. My legs burned as the battlefield was surrounded by steamy smoke. The stadium went completely silent. Everyone watching from home went quiet as well. The smoke cleared, revealing that Greninja and Charizard were still standing. A couple of seconds went by. Greninja's legs shook. Charizard suddenly reverted to normal, falling forward.

"Charizard is unable to battle!" boomed Malva as the crowd erupted into applause, "Greninja is the winner, so Ash wins the Kalos League!" My face lit up as Pikachu and I ran towards Greninja. Greninja reverted to normal as Pikachu jumped onto his shoulder, and I gave him a high five.

"Greninja, we did it! We all did it!" I cried. The three of us looked at the screen. It was a picture of me, and all seven Pokemon helped me achieve this victory. The word WINNERS was underneath it. Alain returned Charizard to its Pokeball and walked out to the middle of the field. He stuck out his hand and smiled.

"You and your Greninja astound me. I hope to one day achieve something similar to what you and Greninja have. Congratulations," congratulated Alain. I shook his hand with Pikachu and Greninja at my side. The award ceremony will take place in a little bit. I had done what I said I'd do when I first arrived in Kalos Region. I never thought I would get a girlfriend, a couple of new best friends, and some of the best Pokemon I've had the honor of catching. The world of Pokemon is truly amazing.
